Prior note holds true but just more muted a year later. Not on the same level as Scrio. Ripe plums with plenty of meaty/smokey Syrah notes following but just flat in the mid section and finish. Maybe needs time but likely will never be exceptional.

Opened in the bottle five plus hours. Really expressive nose dominated by roasted meat and game. Pitch black coloration with a dense viscosity to the palate. The game element carries into the palate but with loads of ripe black plums, charred earth, milk chocolate and black pepper. Overall it’s a luxurious wine with some tannic structure for the long haul but likely best in the next five years.

Suckling's Great Wines of Italy (Loews Hotel - Chicago IL) : Walk around tasting. Also modern styled but also seems to bring more "old school" tannins and depth to the game than I typically find from Tua Rita, giving a charming brightness on finish. 91-92 point potential.

YAWG Italian Tasting (Home) : Explosive nose on this. Toast, dried herbs, black fruits, kirsch, a little black pepper. Fantastic balance on the palate, rich and full with some vanilla notes (not over pronounced) but enough acidity to keep it fresh. Full bodied and almost soup like. This is fantastic.

Italy 2019 Trip; 6/21/2019-7/10/2019 (UK / Maremma / Montalcino / Chianti) : Far more toasty notes and agressive then the Keir. Spicy, structured, and needs time.
