Byron & Harold Cabernet Sauvignon The Partners

Decent enough flavour profile - more Coonawarra than anything. The fruit is punchy with blackberry and raspberry. There are decent savoury notes - mint, menthol and green capsicum - that provide some texture. The tannins though sit outside the fruit. Medium bodied. It's weakness is it finishes too quickly. Not worth it's retail price, but if you picked it up at a good discount it represents reasonable mid-week drinking. OK to drink now, won't really improve, but the punchy fruit …

Nose shows notes of liquorice, mint, and raspberry. Palate shows concentrated black fruit and strong dry tannin, but not much structure. Could use more oak to complement the strong fruit.
