Purchased at auction for $64. Opened 3 hours before drinking but not decanted (but I would recommend as this was showing better on day 2). Deep red color. Rather smooth at first but this put on weight with time. Well balanced with red berry, crushed stone, cranberry and underbrush notes. Firm tannins. Full bodied. Creamy finish. This was very young. Give it time and it could show even better. 94-95 points.

VDP- Tour Grosse Lage 2017 (Hotel Atlantic, Hamburg) : Stating with a fine blackberry nose, very spicy midpalate, dense with some depth, still adstringent tannin, ending lerbal and long, will improve the next decade+, *(***), 90- 93+?

Rudi Wiest Tasting (Republique Los Angeles) : Perhaps my favorite of the flight. More perfumed nose than the previous GG; showing more spice; and cranberry/strawberry. Very bright acidity; very high-toned finish with some soft tannins.
