Nose a bit closed, but bottle opened up over time. Drinking very well now, agree more Dujac than Chambolle. Delicious with Sunday roast dinner.

Plenty of stemmy spice, rich ripe red cherries and raspberries, some easy tannins in background. Incense/sandalwood notes with some air. Lovely, exotic, balanced. Maybe more Dujac than Chambolle, but I’ll take it! A-

Nose of light cherry, cola, touch of menthol. Silky and elegant, yet full. Enjoyable now, but a long life ahead.

1st night, I was running late for a Traveller session and didn't really pay much attention to the wine except to note how balanced and silky the mouthfeel was. 2nd night: paying a bit more attention. Herbal cherry cola at first whiff. Can something smell like velvet feels? Both weighty and light on the palate, and then it somehow seems to osmose into my body after that. It encroaches on the hot side, if there are any sharp edges to …

Fantastic fruit and nice nose - tasty to drink now. Keeping this will be rewarding though as it matures and becomes a bit more complex.

Decanted for a few hours. Ripe, black cherry infused nose that with air displays a deep stemmy/spicy enemy. Big and fairly burly palate for Chambolle, ripe fruit, some chalky soil and a long juicy finish. Comes across as more Gevrey than Chambolle, but well made and hedonistic if perhaps not the most elegant wine.

Leads with ripe black cherry that is laced with stem spice, toasted herbs, spice and a trace of emerging earth. The palate shows more evolution with nice earth notes woven throughout. Delicious stem spice. Juicy and fresh with integrated tannins. Cruising along in a peak window.

Definitely in decline but still a beautiful wine. Pop and pour notes don't reflect what I think it will evolve to as it warms and opens up: Nose of faint flowers, leather, earth, red fruit Palate has initial attack of faint red fruit and flowers evolving to a mid palate of earth, mushrooms, cranberries, and finishes with significant tannin. It really needs some food, maybe a mushroom risotto with lots of parm. Overall, still decent but pushing the boundaries of …

Pretty fabulous for a village level wine. Deep garnet color, aromatically open at this stage, with notes of dark fruits and cinnamon spice. All the power of the house style, combined with some detailed layers and enduring finish, great weight and polish makes this a formidable appellation wine. Bravo!

Super reductive at first. Needed a decant, but after 30-40 minutes it became lovely. Delicate and crystalline tart red fruits with plenty of Chambolle earthiness with an iron shavings streak running through the wine. Fine grained tannins and bright acidity give the wine a lovely structure. Delicious bottle. ABV: 13.5% Decant: 40min Stem: Glasvin Expression

Beautiful bottle. Hurts getting these reminders that I need to be buying more Dujac. Bright magenta color - what are they doing to Burgundies these days that makes them look like Beaujolais? Thankfully the resemblance ends with the physical appearance, though it is per usual redder and brighter in tone than the Morey. I usually like the Chambolle a notch or two better and so it is again here. Layers of velvety tannin give it ample muscle but a sense …

Tasting at Domaine Dujac (Morey St. Denis) : Red cherry, florals and intense stem spice. Wow, this is so round, plush and approachable. Volumes of lush fruit with excellent precision and length. 91-92+ and already drinking so well.

When I Coravined this about four and a half years ago it evidenced significant green meanies - was not at all palatable, and my only recourse was to just park it a few more years and hope for the best. What a relief that it was not green or lady-bug tainted at all. Absolute perfect delight of a match with a creamless mushroom demitasse soup with shaved truffles, truffle oil, truffle salt.

Dujac Tasting with Jeremy and Diana (Chicago, IL and Nuits-Saint-Georges, France) : Not quite as expressive as the 2001 right now. This is of a relatively large scale, and although the fruit still is of the red sort, there is a bit of a tilt towards black fruit as well. The palate is ripe and broad-shouldered, and this wine certainly shows the vintage character. There are some sweet brown spice flavours here, and while the tannins are still a little …

Dujac tasting with Jeremy & Diana (Zoom) : 100% whole cluster (as opposed to the roughly half whole cluster 01 served side-by-side). A ripe, rich and full throttle nose of black cherry with plenty of spice. The palate is rich and concentrated yet silky and well balanced. Fruit purity and stem-spice throughout. At peak now and should last for 10+ years at this level.

decanted & consumed. deep ruby, fairly open aromatically from the outset, fresh & floral, elevated, w/sandalwood spice, musk after an hour or so; med. weight; lots of cherries in the market today, so imprint already in place - this is ripe red cherry, decent tension, became firmer over time; optimal zone is a couple years out. food was fat & earth, not especially seasonal, but very fine wine accompaniment. crisp pan-roasted chicken thighs; bacon fat-roasted hakurei turnips w/sherry vinegar & …

Two things pops into my head when drinking this: 1. My god, it’s delicious. 2. Red Burgundy really ages slowly. Almost ten years old, and still on the way up. Probably 15 more years left before this is gives in. Will open next bottle in 3-5 years.

BYO Blind Tasting and Dinner (House of Nanda - Chicago IL) : Tasted double blind. Easily seemed like Burgundy, I even correctly identified it as Chambolle. 2009 ripeness comes through well although I though it older given its good balance and charm. Good now with upside.

Has the flash and pomp of most 09s, unabashedly sexy and ripe. Also comes in with 1er cru pedigree and silken texture yet confuses, to a point, on what this really is: cali, burgundy? The Dujac 'signature', i guess, gives it away; that insanely fucking delicious tail end of toffee or creme brulee or top notch oak. All together delicioius, but vintage usurping soil.

Dieser verkostete Wein ist von DUJAC Fils & Père! This one is from DUJAC Fils & Père! Can't modify it anymore!

Slightest bricking around the edges; nose starts w/floral notes turns big mushroomy, loamy, w/ violets in the background. Same combo in the mouth: mushroom on the front followed by violets, pastilles, more dirt. Extraordinary. Some raspberry and other red fruits—long finish, stays on the palate, yet nimble.

Popped and glass decanted. As I drank the first glass, I struggled to find redeeming qualities or even any slightly positive notes. There is nothing technically flawed about this bottling, but it was just not good. Perhaps it is still too young, but i fail to see how this wine will not dry out before the tannins are resolved. This is a great example of how Burgundy is over-priced - $65 for this??? With very few exceptions, Burgundy remains the …
