Surprisingly evolved colour, sweet red fruit on opening and attractive ripe fleshy mid palate, moderate length and some bitterness on finish I was not expecting. Not sure if this bottle is representative, I'm really keen on Cortonesi but this was more advanced and less enchanting than I had anticipated

“double-decanted”: (1) poured into decanter for a few minutes and back in bottle for several hours (2) in decanter before dinner Served alongside a similar vintage, lower-end-price, double-decanted Barolo to accompany pasta with chopped lamb ragu. Tasty right away! Viscous, bright, round. The Barolo seemed too subtle for the hearty meal. However, in 15 minutes, the Barolo’s depth and complexity overshadowed this one. A candidate for accompanying hearty meals – tomato-forward ragu

Not nearly as fruit forward as 2 years ago. Dark fruit as it opened in glass with classic secondary sangiovese leathery notes on the back end. Great wine for the price!! Awesome QPR.

Black cherry , ripe raspberry and blackberry nose that produces a ripe dark fruit silky smooth texture on the palate. Smooth lengthy finish. Yum!

Drank well. Lots of fruit up front. Not a lot on the finish. Great qpr. Perhaps some development in the years to come.

Delicious ripe red fruit flavours together with obvious new oak that follows through to the palate. Not very complex but certainly enjoyable.

Hint of rust on rim. Forward warm rich but balanced. Ready and good.

Drank over 2 nights with a short decant (~30min) each night. I enjoyed it but just a tad less than prior bottles, probably because of the shorter decant. I will give it longer next time. Still a great QPR from WTSO

Nose of violets and cherry. Palate is of juicy cherry dipped in chocolate, baking spices and earth, with tons of silky texture. Tannins are strong but the wine is already generous and inviting, and gains more weight and texture with air. Plenty of elegance and interest here. Brutally good with tagliatelle al ragu. Wish I had gotten more when I had the chance.

After 25 minutes: Smells of sweet red fruit and a touch of funk (gutter water; burns off with time) Tastes of elegant light red fruit (a touch candied) over a stretch of earth, hiding a darker concentrated fruit; lovely. Medium bodied A very good wine, especially with food.

A few minutes ago I finished Mix 36 wine and for the sake of comparison I opened this one, also 100% Sangiovese. After a few sips I already know pperfectly well what is missing from the previous wine (to find out more, please see my review of Mix 36). First things first: the taste of red cherries wrapped in chocolate is amazing. Red currants perfectly harmonize with tabacco and spices. 7 years old wine and there is already a great …

This is one of my QPR favorites. Good structure, med+ acidity, cherry/red berry, med+ tannins, long finish. I hope I can show enough patience to wait on my remaining bottles. I think this will improve over the next 5+ years

As good as it gets for $34 Brunello on WTSO one year ago. I wish I had bought all available. I had one bottle upon arrival and it was too tight and not showing well. I opened my second bottle tonight and let it sit in the glass for 2 hours. It was fabulous. Glad I have 1 bottle left. Tannins are still evident a lot but softening. Brunello flavors and complexity and smoothness are perfect. Finish is medium. It …

This was Friday nights wine. It was sort of strong but good and very smooth, and we both liked it. I think this was a 30+ dollar bottle of wine, and if that’s correct, we both feel like it was not really worth the extra dollars.

Bit more modernist than traditional for me. Rather heavy aromas of new oak amidst the fruit. Relatively high alcohol. This is nice, but not great.

2015 Brunello di Montalcino, new releases (Montalcino centro) : Benvenuto Brunello 2020, Montalcino Very good sense of place, it's a touch reduced just now, but with some more swirling, this quite nice. Red and purple flowers on the nose, with some leather, a touch of vanilla, and ripe cherries. Most follow to the med+ palate that's good, but is missing the freshness acidity to carry this to the next level. Drink 2022-2033. recommended Full 2015 Brunello report here https://wp.me/p7fulH-27j https://www.ItalianWine.blog
