Domaine Roger Luquet Saint Véran Vers les Monts

Popped and poured. Decent white burg with classic green apple flavors and strong mineral finish. Great acidity, what I expect from St Veran, with no hints of oak or malolactic fermentation. The one dimensional green apple midpalate disappoints as this wine is supposedly from a single vineyard in this well known Maconnais village. With its pedigree this wine should be a "steal" and drink much better than the average Macon. I would recommend trying a different producer. (CMS B)

Pale in the glass. Inviting nose of steely mineral. Powerful flavors of crisp apple, banana, mango, and mineral. Dry, harmoniously balanced, with a long finish. Excellent QPR in a white Burgundy.
