Very much at peak, but stunning. Baked apple, candied lemon, beeswax, and chalk. Creamy, silky, deep and profound with a seemlingly eternal finish. Unmistakably Loire Chenin but with everything you love about good white Burgundy.

This was excellent. A bit weighty in a good sense, while showing complex secondary flavors... sweetness is increasingly mild while floral, some nutty umami flavors are prevalent, but also doesn't go too waxy (not a personal preference). Balanced and works quite well with food. Certainly distinctive and worth it's price.

Nice subtle Chenin starting to show dry complexity with age. Aerial nuances of lemon wax, honey. Nuttiness on the palate, sapiness... And is that a hint of oiliness? Lovely double play. Recommend as end Summer/ early Autumn drink. A taster, and a glass at lunch with a potato hash. Should do wonders with tonight’s chicken casserole.

In a totally different place from my last tasting. Definitely not flirting with Burgundy here and firmly in Chenin territory. Varietally almost stereotypical - honeycomb, waxy lemons, lanolin, with a touch of saffron. This shows that crystalline quality I love on good Chenin - it sparkles in your mouth and flirts with a real lively minerality. Such a long languid finish, it's very sad when the last sip arrives.

Honey, tropical fruit and mineral notes. Fruity but medium dry. Light acid, medium minerals. Drink now but no rush, I’ll save my second bottle until at least its 10th birthday.

Clear honey flavors, some flowers and toasted nuts. Great wine.

There were moments I thought I could be drinking fine Burgundy. Melon, quince, lanolin, marzipan, toasted almond, pipe tobacco on the nose. Rich and unctuous on the palate, with big yellow and white fruits, some verging on the edge of tropical. Behind this there were beautiful layers of oiliness, nuttiness, verbena, and toast. Every swish hits you with a heap of flavours and the very long finish is lifted but some pretty intense, but very welcome, acidity. Have one today, …

Lunch with Chris and Joey; Non-Blind (Bin 75) : The best pairing with romaine lettuce Caesar dressing and white anchovy the wine showed a kiss of new oak, grain, apple, pear, and good mineral texture with a bit more polish and richness and great acidic finish; reminded me more of Chenin than White Burg today.

Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75) : Golden color, aged; lots of honey on the nose, stone, white powder, white flowers; powerful on the palate, young, honeysuckle, pear, apple, no new oak, lemony finish, hint of wooliness and grain; very good.
