Decanted 3hrs. Red fruit, earth, moderate tannins and acidity, and oak. Fruit was muted and oak noticeable. Not well balanced. But this was much better on second day. This needs a few years to better integrate

'16 & '17 petresco over 2 nights. '16 was juicy and fruity, sweet and ripe. '17 was restrained, muted, and darker. both good, but i'd give the edge to '16 right now. however, i wouldn't be surprised if the '17 showed better after a few years.

Conseillé par le sympathique sommelier de la Enoteca Baldi, à Panzano in Chianti (incontournable et adorable bistrot/caviste). Un vin justement de la commune de Panzano. Nez plus boisé que le précédent (Uno) mais plus typé Chianti. La bouche est superbe, fraîche, belle concentration, c’est fin et profond, un peu moderne, mais savoureux et d'une belle longueur. Une belle découverte. 92 pts

One-hour splash decant. No sediment. Wine was not terribly fragrant during decant. Garnet from bowl to rim; no bricking. In the glass, very Medoc-like: cherries, earth, lead pencil and tobacco. In the mouth more of the same, but some leather as well. Fruit was really deep and flavors quite intense for a Sangiovese. It showed its Italian nature in the finish, which was long, showing hints of the tobacco and leather along with more acid than most Bordeaux. Wonderful food …

Smell: Fruity and light - quite a few tannins and oak. Taste: Black & red currant, cheries, plums and flowers/spices. Should have had some time to air. Will probably be more rounded if stocked 1-2 years.

Needs about an hour of air. A very strong wine for many simple Italian main courses. Plenty of length and depth in this wine, good acidity with pronounced fruit and roundness. Should still be kicking a few years ahead.
