Had this 1/2 bottle with lamb sausages. A perfect combination. The wine is still drinking well although much of the fruit is gone. A soft elegant Rioja.

Benchmark of traditional style Rioja. Garnet core with brick-like rim. On the nose, dried berry, herbal (thyme, etc), baking spice, vanilla, hint of rose petal. On the palate, medium plus acidity, medium plus finish. Silky tannins. Drink beautifully now and should hold for a couple more years.

Browning towards rim, superb nose of dried red fruits, herbs and hints of subtle vanilla. Palate is uber smooth, tannins melt in the mouth but still give a nice pinch of grip. Classic Rioja made how it should be.

From a .375. Could be nothing other than a traditional Rioja. Good intensity. Velvety texture. Mature notes. Great acidity. Followed a 2000 Tondonia and did not suffer in comparison. Very glad there are a few wineries still making wines like this.

Open, intense, developed nose with dried, but sweet red cherry and strawberry fruit, vanilla and leather, and some quite rich tobaccoey complexity with hints of almost burgundian undergrowth. Brownish red color to this wine. The nose of which is full of cinnamon spice, dusty earth, and leathery cherry notes. In the mouth the wine is very fresh and full of pure fruite flavors.
