Mario Lucchetti Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore Guardengo

Lacrima is one of those wines that makes you realize the breadth of what a grape can do, and this example from Lucchetti is one of my favorites. It's intensely perfumed, with incense and lilies shooting out from the glass, and the flavors overlay all of that over a palate that's totally dry but still feels sweet, with blackberry jam and roasted plantain flavors mixing through a dry sheet of tannin.

Enjoyed it, funky, strong chamomile vibes

Medium (+) to deep purple in color. The nose is floral and aromatic, with candied violets, lavender, black fruit, blue fruit and cinnamon. No oak, all stainless steel. The palate is fruit forward but quite dry, unlike the sweetness of the nose. The acidity and alcohol are medium, but the tannins are medium (+) and still quite youthful and prominent, with a spicy, savory and slightly bitter finish.
