From magnum - a fading beauty - great value for the (original) money

Ruby/Purple, near opaque, med+ viscosity, med extract on glass, aromas of cherry jolly rancher candy and violets, jammy blackberry, black raspberry pie, prominent tarragon, pepper, a bit of euc, mocha and cured meat. Wet soil, vanilla, cinnamon and toast indicate oak treatment. Mod tannin low acid and moderate alcohol. Finishes jammy.

Showing really well right now but could go a bit longer. A Bordeaux nose of tar, tobacco, red fruit and dried leaves On the palate there is red fruit up front followed by good minerality, light tobacco, and a soft, well rounded tannin finish that lasts 15 to 20 seconds. Overall body is light compared to the nose.

a nice merlot definitely at the end of it's drinking window, though you couldn't tell by it's color ... still purple hued at the edges. The nose is earthy with some cinnamon spice and dried fruit. The flavors are leaning toward the raisin-y side, maybe some black cherry too. Finishes fast as the acid is all gone and the tannins are soft. Last bottle.

solid Sonoma character here, and it improved with a day on the counter (but I wouldn't hold this one too much longer).

Not bad but less complex than a 2004 Clos Pegase we just finished.

Drank at a restaurant. Notes from memory - red fruit nose, soft tannins and a smooth mouth feel. Mid palate is a bot hollow.

Much better after an hour of air. Not much nose with muted fruit and lingering tannins.

still has strong tannins but fruit is more muted. Probably would cellar well for another 5 years

I was hoping for the fruit and complexity of the 2002, but this was a little lacking.
