This pours just barely opaque at the core, somewhere between ruby and garnet. Clearly some light bricking at the rim. The nose opens beautifully as this gets air showing tar, wet earth, cigar ash, some background coconut and vanilla making this clearly identifiable as Rioja, ripe strawberry, dark cherry, and even a little lavender. Good tannins with lively fruit even with the age. Savoury and complex, good to drink right now. Good length

Cherry with scents of cinnamon and nutmeg. Good acidity. This has aged elegantly, and is a steal at this price.
