Still alot of oak on it… needs more time to mellow.

Good nose and can taste the oak. I think I opened too soon. I had a little left 2 days later that was better.

Fantastic bouquet with strong notes of cherry. A bit of a medium acidic finish compared to some other vintages.

Blackberries, coconut meat, vanilla, camphor, wet earth and cedar. Full-bodied and very long, with a round, sumptuous middle. So much concentration and grip, there’s staying power, along with the needed elegance. Drink 2023 - 2038.

A great example of a blended wine where each varietal adds its own unique characteristics. Opens with mixed currants ending with background notes of red fruits. Transitions over time to a more black currant dominant profile and a faint graphite edge. This is seductive and immediately appealing but also fleshy with a deceptively big personality. It will drink well for another 7-10 years. Well Done!

Decanted for 30 min and tasted with Tiffany_kerry Scents of green pepper first hit the nose, then descends to a soft floral note of rose water. White cherries and strawberries flavors are predominant, with Surprised that a predominant cab smells like so much green pepper and green herbs. When we were tasting at Davis, this was my favorite wine by far. Tastes like brighter, red fruit like white cherry or strawberry vs. darker fruit. The pepper lingers. I can't believe …

Crushed blackberries on the nose, notes of earth, leather and vanilla. Smooth tannins to close. Decanted for 2 hours. This will only get better with age.

WOW! Where do I start? This is terrific. A big, rich, dark, powerful, but oh so smooth, complex and long finishing Cabernet Sauvignon that is so seductive, alluring and decadent. A “Top 50” wine for me. One of my highest scores ever. And at the Community price, a Far, Far Better wine then a lot of these Napa Cult CS!

I love their Howell Mountain and Cabernet. The Oakville release might be the best of the three. It is well balanced even at this early age. Subtle fruit on the nose gives way to smooth vanilla and floral finish.

Very young but well produced and structured wine.
