Needs couple of days to open up and express itself. Forest floor, geomycin, green bell pepper notes.

Upon opening this shows darker fruit and menthol on the nose, and herbs, wild berries and more menthol on the palate. With air the menthol integrates nicely, creating a brambly herbal quality, which adds a lot of interest. Just a hint of alcohol coming through is the only thing that keeps my score from being higher. Agree with notes the last year or two that this is at peak. Definitely showing more a couple nights after opening (having pumped half full after open 1-2 hours). Medium weight, black and blue fruit while slightly dry on the palate, touch of licorice and slightly savory as well. More elegant than powerful.

If you own it, drink it. It's ready!! Everything in balance. A lovely wine. Delicious. Much better after open 2-3 hours.

It's dry and tannic and well-structured, and rich in blackberry, currant, cherry and plum fruit, with a long, spicy finish. Drinking fantastic now, at peak, or near it.
