Chateau Tanunda Geand Barossa 2009 Shiraz. Bright vibrant purple with the merest hints of brick red at the edge. This has big rich briary aromas with redcurrents and peppery spice. A big kick of fruit with a fine tannic spine. Dark stonefruit and red berries are predominant and a beautiful soft lingering finish. This is drinking beautifully right now.

This was OK. Definitely not nearly as good as the 2007 which was a stunner. Medium-bodied, varietally correct as per what you'd expect for an Aussie Shiraz. Definitely better choices at this price point, but I must say when these folks make a great wine (which this is not), it is over the top.

Attractive tar and black fruit on nose; relatively light (for Barossa) fruit flavors and nicely integrated tannins but stands up well to pepper steak

Nearing the end of the case now... not as much depth as it had 2 years ago but still a vibrant fruit bomb. Very nice when grilling.

Has changed allot in the last year. Jammier prune flavors now. Not as good. Awkward phase or headed downhill?

This bottle had a more concentrated and jammier feel than previous ones. Prunish overtones. Not as attractive as before. Drink up?

Not one of our favorites. Tangy, jammy flavor. Needs some tannins to balance the acids.

Better. A couple hours of decanting really helps. Focused, intense fruit. Very nice.

Overrated. Very spicy, peppery and hard on the inside of the mouth. Ok to the price though.

Pecuiliar wine. Nose of plums and cherries. However, the texture of this wine is like cough syrup, sweet taste, cherries and charcoal in the flavors. Wine seems to coat the mouth. Very different experience from the other tasting notes. No wood or tanin, volatility in the mouth. Would not recommend and will not drink.

This bottle was the ugly duckling from the case so far. Hotter, jammier, stewed fruit, compote. Displayed neither the poise or depth of previous bottles of this wine.

PnVnD let air for 1hr. Purple garnet deep but not opaque with a garent rim. Medium weight with plush soft tannins.Ripe plum casss blackberry and herbs on the nose. Plummy ripe flavors with a touch of spice. Watery mid palate. Simple fruity finish. Not over done in the ripeness and extraction department but lacks depth structure and complexity.

Decanted 1 day and really opened it up. Ripe berries throughout with chocolate and spice on the finish, though could be more complex. Notes of vanilla continue through a long, long finish. I'd buy again as a party shiraz.

Very good concentration and depth of flavor. Beautiful, vibrant red fruit. Wonderful balance. A wine to savor and enjoy slowly. Shall have to buy some more.

Deep purple hues, explosive berry flavors. Aggressive and mouth puckering at first but it developed beautifully in the decanter over 5 hours, revealing a harmonious structure and silky texture. These will drink well for years to come.

Wonderful Shiraz. And cheap. Color dark red. Aerated for 3 hrs before it was at its best. The nose was very berry and fruity dominated. Taste dominated by plums and dark fruits. Aftertaste very well sewed into the palette, middle+ of length, and embraced by smooth tannins. This one is good after aerating now, and for the next several years. Buy now for your cellar.

Deep purple hue. Full red fruit - quite high alcohol but balanced nonetheless.

Drinks easily and good to the the price. A little to much alcohol in the nose.
