11.3% alcohol and one of the six Belgian Trappist beers brewed by monks. (There is one Dutch “Trappist” beer as well; La Trappe.)Very dark brown color. In the bouquet a combination of molasses, caramel and yeast. Very full bodied with a lot of sweetness; molasses, caramel and some honey. Also pleasant bitterness. There is some yeast in the bottle.
