Lemelson Vineyards Pinot Noir Reed & Reynolds

2000 Willamette Valley Pinor Noir -- a 15 year Restrospective; 4/18/2015-4/20/2015 (Littel Bird) : Thick and dark. This wine was hot and spicy in a barrel proof rye sort of way. Boysenberry fruit flavors on the bold finish. Disappointing given how well the Sinnean Reed & Reynolds showed at the 99 tasting.

Dark cherry, slight blueberry, slight cola, slight spice. Slight harshness on finish, tannins. Enjoyable. Better w/o food.

Thomas Bachelder and Eric Lemelson made this wine with grapes from the Reed and Reynolds Vineyard (now called Resonance Vineyard) in the foothills of the coast range. We found a case of magnums sitting upright in our cellar and popped a cork to "check for issues." This bottle is pristine. Deep ruby color with very slight signs of age at the rim. Did a blind grab into the cellar tonight and out came this bottle. In hindsight, I should have grabbed one of the other 00 Lemelsons as this was my last of 2 R and R. But what the hell, it's good. Sought a bottle to enjoy as my Kinds play the Red Wings tonight--I hate the Wings, but in a nice way. Anyway, pulled this bottle and got a nice surprise, as I found I had two! Can't beat that.
