Decanted for approx 1 hour. Big, voluptuous nose of burnt caramel and spice. Camphor and charcoal intermingle with dark berries on the palate. This is still a bit too tannic. It's balanced enough to drink now, but patience will be rewarded. It's almost a shame it's so cheap, I just keep drinking them like quaffer's when I should really be letting them sleep for a few years. Maybe the next case... Recommended.

Same TN as before. Drank next the 2001 St Henri and blew the wine 6 x more expensive than it out of the park.

From the moment of opening, the scent of it filled the room. Full of berries. It was a deep dark purple colour, with an intense nose to it. On the palate it was well balaced and long. Very long. Undoubtably the best value Shiraz around at this price and it surely beats many that sit well outside the price range.

This is a big Red very similar to some of the Piggs Peake wines. After reading some professional reviews I followed their lead and double decantered for 3 hours. Under stelvin the minute the bottle was opend the fruit was in your nostrils - very concentrated. After a decanting the wine displayed abundant fruit with sweetness of vanilla and berries coming through. There is a lot of oak in this and I think I will wait 12 months before opening …
