Domaine Gabriel & Paul Jouard Santenay Vieilles Vignes

Smells like a basket of freshly picked red fruit. Lithe and elegant on the palate, with little tannin and generous red fruit. Not particularly complex, but that's not to be expected here. Simple pleasure, and a weeknight burgundy if there ever was one.

Medium ruby with pink rim. Raspberry, dark cherry, rhubarb, hawthorn, floral, mild tobacco, mild earth, mild game, spices and cotton candy. Medium bodied, medium-high acidity, medium tannin, medium structure and medium-long finish. Delicate, fruity and well-balanced. Wine on the lighter side, but that's Santenay on a difficult vintage.
