Very good wine but possibly past it's peak. Still some fruit left. Very pleasant to drink.

nose: rich and extracted nose of dark red cherries, black fruits, a good dose of american oak, vanilla and creamy tones. While it isn't overdone on the nose, the oak and vanilla tones are very strong though they do blow off a bit after some air taste: full bodied with rich and big tones of dark red cherries, black currants, black fruits, and american oak. Medium acidity with sneaky tannins, there is good plushness to it overall: this was a …

Similar to my bottle last year - for me, this is a solid qpr.

Might be a little generous with a 90...solid wine but it was hot from the alcohol. That was the only element out of balance, but it stood out. Drank over three days and didn't evolve much. Best on day 1

PnVnD let breathe for about 1 hr. Crimson purple saturated with a red rim. Cassis plum and graphite aroma. Medium weight smooth with nice tannic grip at the end. Ripe plum cassis and black raspberry with herbal and cigar box notes touch of chocolate covered raspberry at the end. Medium finish. Classy - nicely ripe with good balance and finese. Like it a lot.

Similar to previous note, though the tannins were a bit more agressive than I remember. I much prefer the '04.

Respi-aerate to decanter, and it really exploded the bouquet because I can smell it from feet away. Color cherry red packed with black hues virtually to the rim, opaque, full body. Huge bouquet of blackberries, topsoil, wisps of green pepper, and oak over the top of crushed Flinstone chewables that repeatedly drop to the background with swirling, but return if the glass sits for a few minutes. A big, interesting, and almost decadent nose. On the slurp this is less …

Very good to excellent. Nice dark cocoa powder nose mixed with some green pepper. Smooth lush dark fruits and chocolate on the palate. Medium+ finish. Has plenty of fruit and some decent tannins to lay down for a bit. Really enjoyable bottle.

Popped and poured - needed about 30 minutes to open up; also a little hot upon opening - this blew off in a few minutes. Deep purple, medium bodied wine; lots of dark fruit on the nose; jammy, fruit forward palate - cassis, plum, oak notes; fine tannins, medium finish, fair acidity. Very nice sipper and went well with grilled strip steak.

had in a mix with some other great wines & wasnt on par vs '07 mocali rosso & '07 clio. fruity, almost merlot-heavy. excellent nose to didnt follow thru on way down. nice wine for the $$$ but not at level of some of the other wash state blends.

deep purple. fruit is quite evident, with only subtle hints of oak and minerals.

Popped and poured...FRUIT BOMB. Dark garnet color, dark berries and cherries...lots of fruit on the nose. Strong tannins on the tongue, finish comes up short. OK meritage...not great!

popped and poured, at the end of a party. Great dark fruit, ful body, hint of chocolate in the midpalate. Liked this alot. Definitely could have used a little air time or cellar time, as the 2nd glass was better than the first. 89 now, but could be even better later

More robust and structured than expected. Great fruity nose, Very nice red fruits, solid tannins, and a velvety long finish. I look forward to trying the other bottles and seeing this wine evolve. Nice QPR.

whoa ... totally different from the 2004 ... the addition of petit verdot in the blend takes this wine to a different level and I'm not sure it's to my liking ... still a solid wine ... 88 pts now, could be a 90+ in 2010 when the drinking window starts :)

Fantastic nose. Loads of dark fruit exploded from bottle upon uncorking. Medium acidity, lush fruit, a bit weak in the middle (but flavors are there). Very merlot-esque. Nice tannin structure. Should hold for quite a few years but is extremely approachable now. Has 91+ potential, I believe.

Very aromatic, with black fruit: black cherry, blackcurrants and blackberries, and an interesting vegetal component (kale); rich, dark fruit flavors, with chocolate, mint, and vanilla appearing as the wine opened; good finish, with silky tannins and cola notes appearing at the very end.

This seems to be getting better and better. The red fruit really sang tonight.

Big dark cherry, mocha, fat, big bouquet. Great first impression and midpalate but finish is a little off (alcohol). Would love to try this again in 2-3 years. 24+ hours after being opened, the finish turned almost to that of a port. Syrup, thick, extracted, alcohol undertone. Interesting...but I'm taking it down to 88 from 90 because the flavor profile is a little off for a bordeaux blend.

Good but a little young. A bit woody through the midpalate, but good fruit and a streak of tobacco leaf. Really tasty long finish. Yhis will be better six months from now.

dark cherry notes, little heavy/chewy mouthfeel as I noticed some sediment in the bottle. some tannins, but not enough to overpower the finish. all in all pretty nice.

The merlot dominated this columbia valley blend. I thought this was nice on both nights, but typical, not standout-ish. This wine would accompany a variety of fare.
