Day 1: This is a brooding giant. Not dissimilar to Hodor in GoT. You can feel it wants to express itself, break free of the chains holding it down. There’s structure. Weight. Heaviness. However, it is not able to sufficiently express itself. The tannins are overpowering. 5 hours of air is definitely not enough, but no wonder there. Even incessant swirling does not do the trick. Day 1 The wine offers a fantastic aroma with complex and nuanced scents. The flavor is broad and unfolds in many directions, yet still appears somewhat closed and reserved. Day 2 On the second day, the wine has truly opened up and shows more of its potential. It is not yet at its peak, but there are clear signs that with a few years of aging, it will further develop and achieve its full elegance.

The wine is all over the place and to be honest it’s a bit too much. On the it has: casis, oak, fireplace, leather, sunflower seeds, ink and musk On the mouth it’s: tight, lots of fruit, crème de casis and chocolate The finish is too sweet and strong, not my taste

Very powerfull Super Tuscan/Bordeaux style. Shows very good quality with the oak and the fruit with a lot of muscle rather than elegance. Needs some decanting time to soften the tannins, I would give it a few more years in bottle.

I’ve always enjoyed this wine. It’s young clearly and can benefit from a decant to open up. Dark cherry and blackberry on the nose. Not a lengthy finish, but a good blend regardless.

very dark,deep ruby colour with some purplish hue. nose: sweet, macerated fruits - blueberries, prunes, ripe plums and a lot of tobacco. taste: medium acidity; loads of plums, blueberries, billberries and prunes; young tannins - but elegant. Some spice - nutmeg and cassis sweetness. long finish with note of coffee and chocolate. Everything you can expect from well done supertoscan. Oak very well integrated.

Unbelievable! This wine is an accurate representation of the 2017 vintage. Challenging, complex, and somehow so elegant. This bottle has an explosive nose of blackberries, plums, cherries, and black currant. This wine is dense and robust, showing lots of texture and notes of spice and vanilla on the palate. This wine needs at least 3 hours to open. Powerful tannins make this bottle very difficult at first. A handful more years will do this wine beautifully, but if prepared properly …
