What comes through is the balance between the fruit and the oak. Peach, pear, apple, with savoury notes. Good length and in a nice spot right now.

NobleRottersSydney - Tamar Trip Sep04 (2): Pipers River (East Tamar wineries) : (A$27, cork) Mid straw. After these light flinty wines, the nose here appears to assault with rich buttery aromas. Yet the palate is refreshed by cool-climate/grapefruit acidity which holds the malo characters in balance. Walking the mid path between fat/blowsy and lean/stony quite successfully.
