Meaty, smooth, mature, robust

Ruby colored bordering on purple. Clear rim of the CS (2/3rds of the blend). Nose of oak and prunes. Taste has plum, black fruit, well integrated tannins. Black pepper on the finish, longish but a bit monochrome.

Fine to drink, but not remarkable.

Better than the last bottle, or maybe the food was a better match.

Wish I had held this a bit longer but moving things around in the cellar and this was a single. Tasted this earlier this year at Red Mountain. In summary, a good mid-level cab from WA. Barely a meniscus. N was primarily Oak and Cherry. Bit of sourdough, baking spices and soil. Palate had a bit of licorice but was more cherry/blackberry fruit. Never quite opened up and didn’t exhibit much depth. I was hoping for a lot more from this lower priced red.

Col Solare’s other stuff. Drinking really nice right now and certainly shows potential for a couple years in the cellar paying off. Good structure and solid finish. More barrel influence than I prefer.

A decant definitely favors this wine. Really a nice blend of really nice fruit. Features the Red Mountain fruit quite respectably. Definitely not your typical second label.

Good value second label red blend from Col Solare.

Already drinking wonderfully and lots of room for improvement. That is, this is just going to get better and it’s pretty tasty already.
