Cantine Colosi Nerello Mascalese

The wine looks violet colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry. It tastes like strawberry. The body is light. The wine has linear texture. The wine finishes short. I thought the wine was thin, astringent, un-complex, (kind of like Pinot Noir) light, watery, low a.b.v., austere with tannins and vine overtones. Might be good with the right food like greasy, fatty meats or rich meals. First time I had the varietal.

First bottle seemed oxidized. Didn't finish. Second bottle seemed to be over the hill. Will give my final opinion after next bottle, but the trend is not good.

Very red, no traces of purple. Intense sour cherries. Finishes with dry paper pulp. Jammy and berry sweet notes, yet fairly dry. Surprisingly mellow for being unoaked.
