Excellent wine, this is always one of my favorite white burgundies.

The one with monopoles (JP) : Brief notes. I never knew that Vougeot had blancs! This definitely confused the folks at the table. Fruit driven bouquet showing off lychee, apricots, chrysanthemum and pears. Palate definitely ripe with good intensity and concentration - would have preferred a bit more tension but this is drinking nicely. Blinded I thought this could have been something like a Gouge NSG les Perrieres blanc.

Delicious Vougeot blanc, displaying a nose of butter, cream, flint and sesame seed in a very Coche-like style. Dense texture, nice tension, impeccable balance. I would have loved a little more length on the palate, but I very much enjoyed this wine though.

La Paulée de Geneve : During a Paulee dinner, so only brief impressions. Contender for the most succulent wine of the night. Expressive nose with lemon, butter, spices, combined with flinty elements, rich yet fresh. They managed 2018 well here. A discovery!

Lunch at Restaurant christian Quenel. No notes. Super enjoyable lush yet minerality driven with unique profile vs more typical village expressions. This was my gateway look into this relatively unknown producer- and the portfolio is fantastic.

Thank to Morten VB for the sample tasting! Really on the heavier and more dense side. Matchstick, toasted oak, butter, nuts, lemon, orange zest and some spice as well. Quite warm and ripe but with a good acidity though I could personally have used more, but 2018 is tricky. Very nice minerality but it just gets a bit too heavy, powerful and intense for me - but extremely well-made.

Very fine Powerful and intense expression with lemon and spices. High acidity gives it a freshness which is not typical for 2018. Really a pleasure to drink at this stage as it has the youthful fruits but is rounded a bit and display a high energy

Color is pale straw. On the nose: Citrus (lemon and orange), white flowers and almonds. On the palate: Tart lemon and orange zest with some good mineral elements on the finish as along with Pear and tart orange zest again. Very good wine and very nice mouthfeel.
