Vinos Ambiz Sauvignon Blanc Tinaja

Popped and poured. Pear aroma with slight smoke. Lovely stone fruit flavors. Pronounced smokiness at first, which eventually fades into the background but never disappears. Apricot nectar and kumquat finish. Intriguing, mutable, complex, firm, great staying power. I don't know where the smoke comes from, but it is well integrated and enhances flavors rather than obscuring them. Fascinating wine.
