Palate with tart but candied just ripe plums (almost like plum jolly ranchers if there was such a thing), ripe cherries, kirsch, herbs, some bitter chocolate. Med+ body with great acids to keep the wine lively. Mild+ tannins. Nice finish of plums, jolly rancher cherries, herbs and bitter chocolate. So lively and fresh for a zinfandel. Decanted. Now 1h after decant. Aromas of plums, fresh figs, bright blackberries, baking spices and herbs. Palate w bright blackberries, unripe plums, cranberries, baking spices, herbs, bark and some earth. Moderate+ tannins on medium body w excellent acids. Moderately short finish of herbs, plums, fresh figs, and a bit of earth. Brighter and more lively than most CA zinfandels. Almost like a cru beaujolais but with zinfandel fruit flavors. Really interesting and different. Like this. 88+
