Decanted 4 hrs. At 10 yrs of age, I was expecting much more. Suckling is drinking another wine with his 98 pt rating. Simple, tannic, linear, it doesn't excite the palate in any particular way. Wise man once said an average wine will never age into a great wine. So I would open sooner than later.

2.5 hour decant. Nose shows cedar, olive wood, pomegranate syrup, and leather. A dark cherry rush starts the palate then gives way to a strong red leather component, with thistle and sun-baked earth. Lighter sour cherry on the finish with bresola, cinnamon, allspice, and a lengthy finale of oak and broad tannins that still have some chew. Nice now, certainly will hold for another 10 years. Less sure it improves a lot.

The nose was nice (berries with a bit of spice on the end), but the midpalate was muted. It opened up a bit in the glass, but not as much as I'd've liked. I'm afraid this may be on the downswing.

Good Brunello. Intriguing nose. Medium body. On the more intense side for a Brunello. Red cherries and strawberries, but not dominant. Not much fruit. Earthy notes, minerals, dark chocolate, pepper. Still tannic, so it will still last a few more years and may actually be better then.

Over its peak? Not much to smell here. Mainly tannins/menthol and not much fruit left. I expect more flavour and depth from brunello’s of almost a decade old. 3 h decant did not help.

After a brief decant I poured. I sipped my Brunello over a three evening period with consistent notes. This is not a great Wine. There is a fine layer of tannin, but not much fruit. A drop of Menthol on the nose, but that is about it. Is it worth $75 a bottle? Not in my opinion.

Opened up this bottle to watch NBA playoffs. Classic Sangiovese aromas of strawberries, cherries and other berry fruit flavors. Nice nose with mild tannis. Drinking very well now but will certainly appreciate additional cellar time and will get better over the next decade. Good thing I have 4 more in the cellar. Some of the reviews have this bottle rated as high as 98 and 95. Those might be a stretch. I’d give it a solid 92 now with perhaps …

SLDS October 2021 : Blind. Leather, dusty, spice, pepper and blackcurrant aromas. Medium body, starting to soften at the edges. Pushes along decently well into a medium length finish.

Really enjoyed this esp for the price point. Clean with pure fruit and a savoriness.

Alcohol 15% blow off initially. 4 hr decant and started to open reluctantly, but with so much promise. Muscular and structured. IMO will be a superstar but needs more time for sure.

Day 1: one-hour decant; disjointed green pepper, strawberry and light coriander nose; well-balanced, nice palate, more strawberry with ultra soft tannins but a rather parched, negligible finish...Day 2: Meh. Next bottle - 2023.

Quite good with pasta and charcuterie. Nice acidity through the finish and some really nice cherry fruit

Nose is raspberry, blackberry, vanilla and meaty terroir. Across the palate, it’s raspberry, mocha, tobacco with a nice round, and long, finish.

A nice wine, no doubt. My experience with Italian wine is very limited to a few bottles and a trip through Italy about a decade ago which included some great restaurants and wine. But while I have some basic knowledge, my palate really doesnt know Italian wine. This reminds me of a good quality central coast Grenache. More dryness and depth, to indicate some decent cellaring potential. Somewhat tight day one and opening up on the nose a lot day …
