Bought recently. Bottle filled upper to mid shoulder, cork soaked. Medium brick-ish colour. Red fruit, pickled gherkin, leather, tobacco, coffee, light cocoa, earth, intense dill, menthol, intense spice, clove, creamy vanilla, some cinnamon, and balsamic notes, with medium-level acidity, fully resolved tannin, and very good length. Balanced, and very smoothly textured, with some old age sweetness. Still very much alive, the complex wine continued to develop as it breathed, developing impressive concentration on the mid-palate.
