Barnyard note. Good acidity. But not much depth.

Drinking really well, still cherry and rhubarb and forest floor. Tannis well integrated. Has at least another 5 years left in it.

No formal notes. Still too young and tight.

Floral and spice with mature red cherry aromas and flavors. Classically Volnay and nicely balanced and elegant, just ever-so-slightly more mature than I expect from 2009 1er Cru at this young age. Purchased upon release from a direct importer.

Blind Pinot's (The Kenwood) : Served blind, drank a small glass over an hour. Quite full bodied, rich, some funk, earth, wet rocks. Guessed Burgundy older than 2010.

Initally closed and tannic, but after 10-15 minutes in the glass this wine is elegant, a bit earthy and rustic and quite long. Great nose. 91-92 pts.

Light garnet colour. Nose offering up ripe small red fruits, spice and oak. Good fruit with lovely balance of acid/tannin. Good minerality. Lovely young primary 1er cru.

Pretty red berry nose. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Nice raspberry fruit with depth and prominent iron-y minerality. Some fine-grained tannins. This has more weight and texture than '07 and '08 Dublere reds I've tasted but less ripe fruit than many '09s. Really nice and will improve.

Opened and consumed over four hours. Succulent and perfumed (but not cloying) nose of strawberries, raspberries. Strong and lightly harsh tannins out of the bottle, but by hour three, everything was in harmony. Wonderful nose, persistent mid-palate of ripe red fruit undergirded with strong earthy, irony foundation. Long mineraly finish. Excellent. This will drink beautifully for years to come.

A delicious dinner : Loved this; it's exactly my style of elegant, terroir-transparent red Burgundy. Fairly deep red with garnet reflections, and a nose of reds fruits, licorice, herbs and a little oak. Smooth and supple on the palate, with integrated tannins and rich red fruit and what the French call "sucrosite," the impression of sweeteness when there is in fact no residual sugar. Beautifully balanced and ripe, I'll drink this over the next 10 years.

Fresh youthful red currant nose with some black berries also coming through. A little flowery with a lot of sewer. Raspberry and red currant is dominant on the palate with some very young and harsh tannins. Slightly bitter on the mid-palate and a very dry finish. Very fresh and impressive wine that also shows a little coffee and flowers but also some sweetness. 92-93p

Great juice. A ripe, iron-infused nose with traces of flowers. Palate is very Volnay and Pitures in character -- round red and dark fruit flavors, solid midpalate, some earth and minerals. Speaks if its terroir. Not as ripe as most of the 2009s I've been tasting. This did not require a lot of air and is drinking real nice now. Clearly will get better with age, but a candidate for early drinking as well. Much less subtle compared to prior …
