Bouchard Pere et Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières Domaine

Youthful color but with a decidedly mature bouquet- subtle orchard fruit and citrus notes with a dominant butterscotch note. Medium-bodied, tasting better than it smells, with apple, almond, citrus and mineral. Tart acidity. Mature, but not as advanced as the bouquet. This was our penultimate bottle so we will queue up the last in the relatively near term.

2008 vintage

Served blind. Waxy, buttery, slightly oxidised with toast, honey, stone fruit, quite rich. Medium plus intensity acidity is a little sharp, lemon, textured, alcohol warmth. I guessed 1er cru meursault 2007

2008 vintage

Deep yellow gold color. Advanced but not oxidized, mature notes of lemon, honey and baked apples. Deep, rich palate showing mature flavors but it holds up over several hours. Drink up.

I wish I had a lot more in the cellar. Still shows a touch of oak on the nose but there is so much more with lemon, flowers, caramel and green apple. Palate is so viscous yet balanced and finish is very long. Gorgeous now and will get better.

Blind: Guessed French, chardonnay, and cote de beaune. This really showed well. Nose shows there's some oak influence, caramel and delicious. Complex palate between the fruit, spice, and acidity. Yellow apple initially but lemon and light lime as it warmed up. excellent.

My final bottle of this from those bought back in 2010. This bottle last night was beautiful, coiled with lemony acidity, some light oak and spicy, yet all in balance with the kind of energy that I really appreciated. No signs of premox here and it's aging beautifully.

Anniversary Dinner with Friends (Anvil Club, East Dundee) : Courtesy of M/M TLV, and absolutely gorgeous. Youthful notes of citrus, white peach and stone. The palate follows the bouquet. Terrific underlying acidity.

WineFest in Toronto (Mike Grammer); 7/10/2016-7/12/2016 (Mike Grammer's (parents home) in Toronto) : Above my expectations. Nose has nice lemons. Good balance. Very deep. Tight layering even with 4 hours of air. Fresh and vibrant. Lemons on the palate. Nice finish. Well done.

Drank with R at Obelisk. No premix. Straw color. Nose of lemon, white flowers. Great balance, freshness and minerality. Really opened up over the appetizer course. Can go 5 more years easily.

Fantastic performance. 375 ml. mineral and lime/stone. very balanced not too oaky but with some nice butterscotch. Full body long finish. gone in minutes. paired with sea bream fillet in morel and cream sauce. i love this game...

Blind guessed white burgundy. Have not clue about producers or classifications. A little surprised that this was '08 as it's extremely bright and fresh. No green meanies here. There's a flint note which hinted towards burg. Medium acidity. This added complexity with some glass time. Very nice.

Just over three years since the last bottle and there is no sign of pre-mox here. Clean, pure. Floral, flint, green apple. As it warms, seemed to get some pear flavor, too. The balance on this was excellent.

Nose: This took a slight bit to open up, but as it did it revealed roasted nuts, flint, limes, almonds, and lemon curds. Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium+ acdidity. The feel is layered and balanced with roasted nuts, almonds, lemon curds, and a touch of flinty notes on the back end. Overall: This seemed a bit premature at first, but it pulled back and opened up beautifully.

Pop and pour. Good body, with a complex, layered composition. Bits of lime zest, flint, white floral notes and pears. Palate was firm and energetic...nice acidity, good balance. Very tasty.

Medium yellow in color. Lovely nose of yellow citrus zest, nut oils, crushed sea shells and stones. A medium bodied palate follows through with chalk, lemon curd, hazelnuts, good mid-palate sap and acidity, well integrated oak and a long mineral laden and linear finish.

4th Saturday group "uptown" tasting (Our house) : Muted; subtle aromas of lemon and mineral but not much else. There's some nice fruit on the palate, though here too it seems tight- lemon and stone fruit, with a nice mineral undertone. Didn't really open up at all over the next few hours. had at my wife's 50th bday dinner in Bora Bora, what an experience, the wine stood up well to the view (which is saying a lot), good acid, good citrus fruits as i expected, some of the Bouchard richness but just enough (i suspect the '08 vintage created the balance necessary), fantastic, looked for more immediately and perhaps not surprisingly it wasn't available in the US
