Prager Winery & Port Works Petite Sirah

Wow...aerated! I'm not a huge Petite Sirah fan but this wine is still beautifully balanced and actually required aeration, not something I would anticipate in a 12 year old wine. Nice!

An excellent tasting wine, still complex once aerated. For a 12 year old petite syrah, held up amazingly well.

Upon opening this was nothing like the tasting at the winery in Nov 2010. It was a hot tannic mess. I didn't think it had much hope and almost poured it down the drain. Day two was a different story and very much like the winery tasting. Nose of plum, blueberry and chocolate. The only negative at this point was the hollow mid-palate. Good fruit and a long finish. not a huge fan. charcoal on the nose and burnt flavors.

Great wine for Christmas meal.

Had this in the tasting room. It was enjoyably complex, though off balance and didn't really come together. Interesting spicy notes, and the nose was really splendid. But it just didn't have any cohesion to its character.
