Continues to evolve. The nose has a certain smoky, liquorice note at first, and possibly some reduction. It opens well in the glass, and has a spine of acidity supporting it. Thought there was some Mourvedre here but apparently not. The higher altitude of Ventoux keeps this refreshing and interesting despite the alcohol content. Went very well with barbequed lamb and pork chops with ratatouille. This wine has been different with every bottle tasted as it has evolved. Still got …

Not great. Unpleasant aromas. Tastes better.

Two glasses by Coravin. Kirsch, raspberry and blackcurrant on the nose. Good fruit backed by some acidity on the palate. A fine sediment again. This wine remains impressive...refreshing for a S Rhone.

Such a change since last summer when first one opened…it was very good then, but now much more complex…just so much going on here. Deep dense purple still, with a very fine sediment, which only came into play on Day 3 really. I didn’t decant. On first evening, with a barbequed sirloin, the bouquet was just stunning, and difficult to tease out the elements of it. Blackcurrants, then raspberries plus some violets maybe and spice too. Beautiful texture on the …

Vibrant deep purple colour. Some restrained Syrah on the nose. Was wondering if it might still be closed up. No! A lovely mouthfeel, almost crisp, with red and black fruits, decent acidity (not seeing the lack of acidity commented on below), which will help this age a bit. Tannins not really noticeable. Very refreshing and quaffable now though, very pure flavour all primary fruit right now but so enjoyable. 13.5% is on the low side for Southern RHone these days …

Nice raspberry and kirsch nose. Very warm snd open-knit. Nothing to complain about from a sunny southern French wine, but I’m not writing home about it either.

A promising nose, with aromas of funky barnyard and smoke jumping out of the glass. Kind of a fake-out though, as the palate doesn't match. Very light, with faint notes of black currant and blackberry, and maybe a skosh of smoke. As noted, the tannins are fully resolved/non-existent, and the acidity is medium-low. Simple, and decent with a charcuterie board.

Medium body. Purple color. Fruit on the nose and palate. Currents, blueberries and red licorice, tannins nearly gone, acidity very low. Enjoyable, yet this bottle lacked backbone - that said, wonderful QPR and current prices so would not hesitate for a weekday wine.

Wine Cellar Rhone Tasting - Mostly 2017 & 2018 (Wine Cellar) : (Tasted Blind) The Artemis is made from 75 Syrah 25 Grenache, no oak. Mid to deep red-purple the aromas show a fizzy black cherry pastilles with some lead pencil. A richly, concentrated wine it feels like an element of spicy oak, yet no oak is used. The tannins are sweet, smooth and approachable. Flavour-soft tinned cherry, liquorice and blueberry compote fill the mid-palate with an intriguing tropical breakfast …

Wow. I wasn’t expecting this. Wonderful “sur le fruit” wine. The purity and expression of the fruit is what dominates: black fruits, loganberry, some Provençal herbs, tannin is already well integrated, great length. Maybe lacks a little acidity, but a stupendous wine. Wonder how they age....
