At end of recommended drinking window. Centre still black, red rim, staining glass. Not much nose. Fruit starting to dry, but still a full, smooth mouthful. Warming finish. Not gained any added complexity, but rich and enjoyable. Berry fruits dominate. Great with food. Popular round the table.

Developed a bit of complexity since last year . Vanilla and plum nose , good leathery sweetness on the palate pleasant albeit not all that long finish.

PnVnD let air for 1hr. Purple garnet deep almost saturated with violet to clear rim. Plum tobacco cassis fig and espresso on the nose. Medium weight with velvety tannins. Nicely ripe flavours of plum fig blackberry and cassis with notes of tobacco rosemary tobacco and espresso. Lingering black fruit finish with nice freshness. Will definitely buy again.

With roast lamb (perfect). Decanted for an hour to an hour and a half. Lovely Rioja nose, a little acidic on the palate. Not as good as the 2004. Leave for a year?
