Tasted this as part of a virtual tasting with Kunde winemaker Zack Long. He took us through the current SB, Chard, Merlot and CS releases and we took the opportunity to pop one of our remaining 2005 Reserve Cabs. I opened it about 1/2 hour before the event; cork was in excellent condition; beautiful color with no sediment; as it warmed from cellar temperature it opened, exhibiting a nice oak/cedar nose; dark cherry/boseberry on the palate with mild tannins on …

This 2005 vintage got still better. Glad to have another 2 bottles resting in the wine room.

Round and rich, with the expected amount of vanilla oak present. Surprisingly good level of acidity, with a juicy finish.

Nose had barnyard and leather, The palate had the same and added tobacco and dark fruits. Well knitted. Went pretty well with sweet Italian sausage. Probably only 2 to 3 years left.

what a delightful, smooth, medium body Cab. Some berry front with a light finish without tannins; drink now.

Very tasty, nice oak on the nose. Hitting it's peak, well integrated and balanced. Drink soon, tannins are starting to fade. .

Much better than previous bottle. Lots of pure red fruit, cedar, some graphite. Very smooth and well put together, but did need several hours of air to hit peak. Still really good on second night. It's too bad the price has shot up so high on these -- this was my last bottle.

Darks rich color, fruit and berry nose. A lot of oak and tannins on initial opening, even better after an hour. Long chewy finish.

Sadly, I think this is past it's "drink by" date. Bland. Nothing stands out. Not bad, but not how I remember the other bottles. Hopefully it was just this bottle and my last bottle will surprise me, however, I won't wait too long to open the last one.

Fruit on the palate. Nothing too special, but not at all objectionable. Nice wine overall.

Can't say anything much. This wine was decent when first opened however with time it faded and really offered nothing more than a subtle hint of stewed fruits

Very enjoyable. Dark fruit and vanilla from the oak. Balanced with good length on the finish. Not very complex but a nice example of a Sonoma cab.

Poured into a decanter through an aerator about an hour before tasting. Muted nose after the initial pour. Dark red. Long legs. Lots of fruit on the tongue. Finish has some tannins, but long. Nice wine.

Must decant for more than an hour. On opening the tannins are still pretty sharp, and it's 7 years ols at this point! Once airated for an hour or two it shows good red and dark red fruits, boysenberry, red cherry, loganberry and so on; it demonstrates big tannins (both oak and grape), but in harmony with the wine, and it has good acidity. I think this may well age further very well to secondary characteristics, so I'm going to …

Subdued nose, medium body with slight tannins, wood/cedar, some fruit (but not much). Was best on 2nd night, but on both nights showed it alcohol too much, and had a slightly sour/bitter end.
