still drinking well, but needs air and time to open. Rich dark cherry fruit, lots of structure with earth, leather and a hint of tobacco. Well balanced, long finish.

Cedar wood berry on the nose. Decanted and opened up fantastically. Had with clams casino and veal chop Milanaise. Mild tannins dark cherry with a hint of smoke. Drank very well over the course of the meal. For the bang for the book a great value. And that doesn’t mean it’s ok for the price it was actually extremely enjoyable....

Dark, well structured wine with pleasant dark berry fruit, some cigar box and a touch of toasty oak. Took hours to open up and held steady for two days.

Sorry that I am out of this one and that I didn't buy more some years ago. Wonderful deep fruit and great for just drinking but goes great with any food, as well.

Just kept improving and improving with more age......as good as any of the top 3 big-gun Bolgheri producers that we've been lucky enough to taste (you know who they are!). Classic notes of balsamic and red soil in the background highlight the touch of sweet oak, black and wild berry fruit, cassis and cigarbox that make this delicious and complex. Structural tannins are sweet and round, everything is integrated nicely, and fruit is still vibrant and fresh throughout the long, …

well balanced. Relatively high acid makes it excellent with food, but quite enjoyable for quaffing. There still is backbone, but this no longer is a powerful wine. Instead, it is sophisticated and lithe.

This is delicious; it still possesses good tannins, acidity, and body, and goes well with pizza. Great deal at $25 from WTSO.

Left this sit in the glass for 2 hours before consuming it over 2 more hours. Consumed w/out food. This is really in a good place. Great finish that makes you go back for more 30 seconds later. There's a slight (pleasant) hint of graphite and nicely developed tannins. Medium+ bodied. Easily a rebuy if I come across any again.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like espresso, coffee, toast and chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity. It smells like blackberry and black currant (cassis).

This took some getting into. Only the second ever wine I have taken a chunk off the glass just getting the cork out. Viva the Screwcap revolution. This is a more complex blend: 40% Cab Sav, 20% Cab Franc, 20% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot. In keeping with its status it also gets shown a bit more oak love: 80% new French oak. Despite the extra two years, this is a deeper, more purple hue than the younger wine (the …

Full-bodied and bold, tasty red with a good amount of fruit. Recall dark fruit, spice, and carob making way to some emerging leather and coffee notes after some time open. Sweet velvety tannins, medium light acidity, and a moderately lingering finish. Had this over two nights, showed best on 1st night with a short decant.

This is what I love about many Super Tuscans. This Bordeaux blend straddles the old and new worlds. Fruit forward with plum and Bing cherry, mid-weight, but with a touch of the earthiness found in old world wines. A hint of eucalyptus and some nice depth on the back end complete a delightful wine well worth the $30 paid.

We had this wine in an Italian restaurant in Dublin and it was an amazing wine! Multi-layered, creamy-buttery finish, full bodied with really silky tannins. Ready to drink right now and could last several years still.

Consistently terrific as we get down to the final bottles of this vintage. Still improving, and will need a wake when we hit the last one. Fruit remains fresh and vibrant, tannins still have some grip, but are silky smooth, and the finish still long a memorable. What a terrific Super-T.

well balanced, strong fruit, tons of structure, well integrated tannin. Drinks like a left bank Bordeaux, which is to be expected since it has that composition, but it has a brightness that often is missing in its French counterpart. Drinking very well right now, probably close to peak.

Deep, brooding purple-black in glass, rich aromas of wild cherry. Flavors come in waves of wild cherry, baked blackberry compote, tar and cedarbox, with subtle touches of leather and wet black earth. Complex, delicious and finishes long, framed by soft but present tannins. A gorgeous Bolgheri Superiore.

Tasty and well balanced. 50 % Cabernet, 20% Cab Franc, 20% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot = 100% delicious. Paid $30 @ WL. For that money this was a nice buy. Possibly not enough depth to justify the $70 retail though. Nice cherry notes, with a bit of spice on the backend made this a delicious pairing for Buratta and lasagna. Wish I had more. Seems to have hit a nice age.

Kinda meh, priced about right at $30. Retail price is insane. Nose is has dusty dried spices, fresh flowers, and a hint of mossy forest. In the mouth wine is mostly on the dry side with strong tannins and a vegetable overtone. Finishes a bit more sharp than my usual liking.

Wine Adventure - Alto-Adige, Valpolicella, Soave, Bolgheri, Barbaresco & Barolo; 9/11/2013-9/20/2013 (Italy) : Nose of wet earth and black cherry. Texture is light, but the bit of Petit Verdot adds some substance. The palate has plum and black cherry in front with a short bit of dark chocolate on the finish. Tannins are strong and dusty with medium high acidity. Probably will mature and bring the tannins and acidity into balance, but needs to have more mid-palate, complexity and finish …
