This Listán Blanco shows a moderate lemon hue and opens with a noticeable touch of reduction on the nose. Fortunately, this blows off quickly, revealing a profile that, while not overly complex, is incredibly focused and textural. The palate is linear and easy-drinking, yet it possesses a substantial mouthfeel that elevates it above a simple regional white. It is a balanced, dependable wine that prioritizes texture and clarity over aromatic intensity, making it an ideal candidate for high-frequency, daily enjoyment.

Very saline, mineral and savoury. Green figs, lemon pith, bread dough, salted peach, chamomile, orange rind and some reductive struck match. A very unique flavour profile, but so seamlessly woven together. Great acidity, structure and texture on the palate leading to a long finish. Not sure I'd rush to buy a case, but I'd love to have a couple on hand if I'm feeling like having something completely different.

Much more ready compared to last year. Took me to the Jura at first, then reminded me of a nice Chenin. It can age further, but not sure if it will get better. Nice but nothing profound. Decent value at US$45 but not a wine to stock up in the cellar imho and definitely a sell if people try to push the price higher.

Lemon, almonds, struck match, some herbs, spices and orange zest on the nose. The profile is so expressive on the palate, entering with rich but precise lemony fruit and continuing along the spine of acidity to a clean, textured and long interesting finish. I could drink this all night long!

The Somm at Wolf in the Fog in Tofino BC recommended this wine. This is definitely a food wine. We paired it with Halibut sausages in a Thai peanut sauce and it was a wonderful pairing . 100% Listán Blanco (Palomino). Grown on volcanic soil at 350 - 550m above sea level. Fermented and aged for 11 months in neutral 500l French oak barrels and 25hl foudre. 12.5% ABV. Really needs all the air you can give it. Opens with a lager beer-like, yeasty hint atop a hint of banana liqueur. A touch hot. Acidity feels more pronounced with air, somehow. Feels like it has one foot in sherry, one foot in Rias Baixas or Vinho Verde. There’s a pastis-like candied, smoky fennel and lemongrass finish to this wine as well.
