WWC - NJH1122 (Fort Worth Club) : Tasted blind - deep red in the glass, with some bricking; muted red fruit nose; decent acidity and red fruit on the palate. Very soft mouthfeel, and low to no tannins. The fruit was fairly sweet - I guessed a 2010 cab franc or merlot. Tasty wine.

surprisingly, this needed some time in the glass to show. early on, i was disappointed with both the nose and the palate and figured it was just a tired wine. don't be fooled. even after 5 hours it compared nicely to some old CDP and some aged Bordeaux varietals at a tasting. If you have any left, don't judge too soon.

Fully mature; benefits from 90 minutes of air prior to service, otherwise, chock full of nits. Color still holding a deep ruby, aromas, once fully open are consistent with 20yr old Napa CS fruit. In fact, once fully open there are few surprises. Med complexity/length. Can hold at this level, but I don't see it improving at all from here; best days are already behind it. 13,0% abv. recommended

Enjoyed from a good friends cellar with dinner last night with filet. Absolutely stunning right now. Fully integrated fruit, tannins and acidity. This is one smooth red fruit drinker right now. Not a harsh or sharp edge in sight. Might be the finest Jarvis I've ever had the pleasure of having. Ty, Rebecca!

Florals and soft green veggies on both nose and palate. Drank well from the hard to remove cork get go. Thinned out a bit as dinner progressed but overall had a nice chewy finish from early on. Drink now w confidence.

This Cab. Franc is slightly past its peak and must be drank now. Soft and muted, with dark berries and a hint of herbs and vegetables.

I detected some droplets of fresh seepage, so I decided to pull the cork. Red currant, cherry, leather, mahogany, licorice, and pepper on the nose. Medium-bodied, high-toned with a dry finish which fans out across the palate. Quite nice, it even gains some added depth with aeration. Judging from my sample, sound bottles can go 3-5 years still.

Wow. This is THE true expression of Cabernet Franc. The wine is beautiful. Uncorked to a DARK purple/black/dark stain on the cork with very minimal bleed. This wine was bottle decanted for 20-30 minutes. Beautiful expression of dark terroir on this wine. Nose of blackberry, vanilla, bramble, and oak. The front of this wine is rather fruity, medium to full bodied, and has enough leather and toasted oak characteristics. It comes across to be a little hot at first. The …

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis) and blackberry. It tastes like black currant (cassis), blackberry, cherry and chocolate. The body is full. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

A bit light for a cab franc. Elegant, medium tannins, soft red fruit. A bit overpriced.

Was not kept under ideal conditions (just a cool closet), and virtually all fruit was gone--what was left was the shell of what was undoubtedly a good wine a few years ago.

Drink now! This wine is very good, but starting to decline. Not the depth of some of my older wines from the night. Still very good, but not the fullness it once had.

This was probably one of the best wines I've ever had. Took it to a steakhouse and it paired wonderfully with my ribeye. Great nose full of dark fruit and leather. Long, soft finish. Almost no tannins at this point. Like velvet!

Drank with some friends over dinner. Has aged well, tannins very mellow allowing some pepper to come through. Still has some time left but appears to be coming to the end of a great run.

With the caveat that this was a 375ml bottle and I expected it to have aged much quicker than a 750ml, I was disappointed with how flat and flabby this wine presented. Winemaker notes calling for "intense flavors of plums and blackberries" and potential for it to continue developing for the next 20 years appear suspect at the moment. In fairness, I will defer from cementing these impressions and scoring too low before I taste a 750ml version that is …

Well worth the rating. Earthy and smooth with a slight celery seed noise. Had a bottle last month that was certainly defective as I thought this wine was showing its age and was past time to drink - not so. Two bottles left and I think I will hold them just a little longer than 09. Excellent wine.

Jarvis is one of my favorite Cabs. The '94 and '97 were great, the '01 very good. The '99, over the hill. Flabby, and flat.....I would suggest you pass on this on....perhaps give it as a gift, but not to a wine friend.

Being a big Jarvis fan, I was looking forward to drinking the '99. I have had the '97 and found it one of the most profound Calif. Cabs I have had. This '99 was disappointing on a few levels. I decanted the wine in my cellar for 2 hours prior to drinking. I found the nose to be rather one dementional. Cherry, tobacco and the typical dusty cab was there, but nothing exciting. The color was a bit pale and …

Three Wines Blind : Tasted blind. Dark red/purple color. A little less opaque than the other two wines. The nose smells leaner and shows tart red cherry. The tartness follows through into the taste of red fruit and kirsch liquor. The wine tastes lean and slightly acidic but is very enjoyable. This is still very tannic and has a lingering finish. A very nice wine.
