The Bruery Coton - Bourbon Barrel Aged

Happy 2nd anniversary to my love! I've had a couple bottles of this that were a little underwhelming, but this one is drinking quite wonderfully. Big oak notes on the aroma, and the wood adds a good bit of dryness to a brew that tends to lean into its sweetness in the original blended form. While a bit wood forward on the immediate palate, it gives way quickly to a flavor that is strong, sweet, and sturdy—just like our marriage!

I was fortunate to come into an extra bottle of this for consumption on my second anniversary, and for no particular reason at all I decided tonight was a good night to crack open my extra. Unlike the 100% Papier variants, this one has a hint of oxidation, even with a double-waxed bottle.
