Blanco brought to GF2 dinner last nite. I've had this wine before, & it's still showing nicely. Grassy aromas, green apples and perhaps a bit of peach too. Palate is complex with notes of apricot and peach. Good acidity level, and pleasingly long finish.

This needed quite a bit of air. Stone fruit, cheese, minerals, peach, gooseberry, slight tropical fruit. Nice acidity, citrus, lemon, tart peach, crushed rocks, and saline notes on the palate. Good finish. Very interesting wine, it’s ripe but also well balanced with nice minerality.

Very Chenin Blanc like experience with this wine. Hints of petrol and honey, green apple and higher acidity than I expected, even a little marshmallow without any grassy notes. I really enjoyed this wine, which was for my palate, drinking at peak.

Quite nice in a focused narrow profile of white peach and yellow fruit notes. Notably aromatic. Finishes steely and lengthy, but without significant depth.

Blind. Some lime-like bitterness in the end but sweet and balanced, not overripe. 92

Very floral on the nose but dry and zesty when you drink it. Certainly one of the most complex whites I have every had. Still not sure about the QPR.

Pale golden. Citrus, passionfruit, complex gooseberry. Good acid drive. Integrated. Showing a bare hint of richness? Distinctive and quite sophisticated. Very enjoyable over three nights.

Yellow, tending towards gold. Pretty closed on nose and palate initially. Two hours to open up. Really long. Passionfruit. Citrus. Minerals. Chalk. Really good acidity. It was quite rounded and had a long lanolin-like nose and palate more reminiscent in some ways of a premium (Hunter Valley) Semillon to me at the outset and for more than an hour post double decant into a single bottle decanter. I may have had it a little cold to start maybe. After a …

Pop and pour. Again, lovely. On the nose: grapefruit, gooseberry, cut grass, and a soft creamy note. On the palate: good acidity, fantastic density and creamy mouthfeel. Perfect with lobster pasta with red sauce. Yum, in the zone for my palate.

Super bon vin!

Echo what previous notes say, this was fantastic with grilled fish and has opened my eyes to aged Sauvignon.

Jasmine, flint, peach and some vanilla in the aftertaste. Complex and in great shape for 11 y.o. wine. 93 no need to age that more.

Absolutely fantastic. On the nose: grapefruit, meyer lemon, gooseberry, basil, soft herbs, supremely elegant but expressive at the same time. On the palate, lovely acidity, waves of dense grapefruit, wet stone, meyer lemon peel...wow. Long finish, with a touch of spice.

Non-Chard Whites (under $30 and over $70) (Casa Covolo) : No detailed notes, but this finished 3rd out of 8. I was surprised this didn't finish better.

More comprehensive notes got deleted and now have had too much wine to care. This is really good & pretty special - cool/fresh nose with some citrus/yeast. Medium body with acidity that starts out mellow and then sneaks up on you - plenty of fresh citrus, rocks/flint and a touch of yeast.

It was really good, but not as memorable as other DD wines I’ve enjoyed in the past. Sun bright yellow- waxy texture- star fruit, anise, mineral. All there but just seemed a hint muted to me. Very good. Very enjoyable.

The single best sauvignon blanc I have ever tasted from any continent. Brilliant white fruit and spoiled hay on the nose. In the mouth it is honeyed apricot and not-yet-ripe red apple. The finish is incredible. It just never quits - long and complex. Acid, citrus fruit, honey, apricot on the very, very end at about 60 seconds. An amazing wine. Clearly sauvignon blanc but Riesling-like. A stunning wine. Sadly, my last bottle.

The nose here is utterly gorgeous from the moment the cork is pulled, boasting layers of super-clean, classy aromatics such as clementine, peach, lychee, anis, spring water and fresh herbs. The palate is creamy, softly textured and light in body, with surprisingly low acidity. This leaves it feeling almost a tad watery in the middle, and I can’t help thinking how strange it is to be left wanting more acid in a dry Sauvignon Blanc - usually one has the …

Excelente.

Drank at our Loire tasting at Crabtree last nite, and this was my white WOTN. Quite a memorable wine showing wonderfully, and what an expressive nose! Straw, citrus and grass just explodes from the glass, and continued to do so even after the glass was empty. Not your typical SB, this is a more rounded, viscous, richer version of the grape, though still possessing all of the qualities one loves in SB--citrus, good but not overwhelming acidity, slightly tart apples, …

An interesting wine, not quite sure what to think of it. Warm year, big, viscous, almost viognier-like. Big and round as opposed to acidic and tropical. Don't see this gaining much with more age. Good not great. 90?

Still very much alive and vibrant after almost 8 years. Initial nose of grapefruit, gooseberry, some white peach and nail polish remover. Palate is medium lean with an easy finish and mild acid. More citrus fruit, Meyer lemon, curd, and key limes.

This is a remarkable wine - broad spectrum Sauvignon Blanc. Tame citrus, though still it's most prominent feature. A bit of dry straw on the nose - a cut lime on dry straw. In the mouth, rich and deep. Long, long finish - 60 - 90 seconds. Not a single discordant note. Exceptional. I had this almost a year ago and the difference between then and now is perceptible - today it is more rounded, nuanced. I rarely wax rhapsodic …

pale/clear straw. nose is mineral with notes of tropical fruit. It is "thicker" than i thought it would. Fuller body. my wife tasted minerals I got the tropic fruit. there is still acidity that holds it together. really enjoyed this. No way i would have guessed it was a 6 year old.

Sauvignon Blanc on steroids. Assertive but compelling. First smell was a typical early cat piss smell. But in a good way. If that's possible, which it is with this. Over the next three hours it calmed, deepened and spread over a broad spectrum of citrus, melon, green grass and spice. Remarkable. Unusual. Hard to describe but a memorable experience. Whatever I paid, it was worth it on a crisp, blue sky, fall day in Big Sky Country.

I'm so sorry all I purchased was just one bottle of this. Drank this with my son and daughter-in-law for her 31st birthday in NYC. On pop n pour, this was an elegant white, made by a premier winemaker. There was a hint of acid that would fade a way. At first, the wine was good, but I wondered what all the fuss was about. At 45 minutes, my comment was Oh My! This is singing. I'd suggest a decant. …
