So lemon! Profound lemon flavor with acidity. Decent bubbles but abated over the course of the day. I expect that anyway. This changed over the course of five hours and the acidity leveled off, putting this in better balance. Really nice and savored every sip. Like how this evolved. Medium lemon color. Needs time to appreciate this as it changes so much. Sip slowly. Served in the forties and it was a different wine as it warmed. Flavor is here. …

Smoking good and drinking great! Very fresh, energetic, good cut and excellent definition. This has citrus fruit in abundance, with some floral notes and a kiss of honey on the finish. Hard to put this down, very attention-grabbing in that sense. All in all a solid value for this level of quality, as well.

I think Soyhead captured this quite nicely. Still quite young. Nice tension between richness and freshness. Don’t drink this to cold.

Nose - butterscotch which Erica immediately picked up on. Perhaps creme brulee and hazelnut. Rich Chardonnay nose. Mouth - hazelnut, marzipan, with just a hint of brown sugar followed by a long puckering lemon finish. An interesting combo of rich and sour. Probably would make for an interesting still wine as well and likely has many years of life.

Drinking nicely, great acidity and a mixture of citrus and orchard fruits. Really enjoyable now but will improve

Nectarines, pineapples, ripe citrus fruits, white flowers, lilies, some mushrooms, lactic products, butter and cream, angel cake, refreshing chalky minerality, some toffee and a toasty bread-like edge, slightly oxidative on the finish. It's young, yes, but already recognizably 'Moncuit'; in some years to come it'll be even more delightful. Approachable, but with a lot of ageing potential to gain complexity. 90pt

nose - almond, fennel, butterscoth, rich cream nose mouth - clean & lively - a refreshing wine that you can plow through, with lots of zesty backend acidity to keep it from being boring

More chalky, with more white fruits and flowers than the '06; fresh, chalk and earthy notes, white peach pit, fine light airy bubbles, long vinous finish; this is super fine and a bit of a contrast to the '06. I tend to like the '10 a little better, but the '06 could pair more easily with main dishes. At the domain in Mesnil. 92+

Champange Pierre Moncuit Visit with Vintage '59 (Les Mesnil-sur-Oger) : Brief tasting note, winery visit. Bread and butter, creamy mouthfeel with even more breadth and richness. Very hot last 2 months leading into harvest yielded very ripe grapes, but did not drive down acidity judging from this bottle. My 2nd favorite wine of the afternoon, suggested pairings from Nicole include turbot with cream, or foie on toast.
