Sebastien Riffault Sancerre Rouge Raudonas

I knew it'd be true, but I obviously waited way too long to drink this completely unsulfured wine. It was all funky and nasty on the nose and palate. Undrinkable. Made me want to gag. Followed open for about 3 hours and it never became drinkable, but it did change.

Nice. Kind of SlB-like, I think. Delineated Pinot, mineral, a little scrapey at the edges which has tension with the lightness. I liked it a lot.

Slightly cloudy red-amber. Like many low-intervention wines, the nose is seriously candied and coolish-fresh. Bright berries on the palate, the finish is medium-long with pleasant tannins and minerals. The overall profile is similar to Frank Cornelissen's reds, but rather more accomplished; fresh and bright, paired decently with chimichurri skirt steak, but probably more suited to lighter fare.

Gains texture with air, decant and wait. A little spritz, needs time.
