Domaine des Favards Côtes du Rhône

Enjoyed this more than I remembered from recently. Light southern Rhone, probably somewhat past its peak, but still very alive and enjoyable. Mild notes of cinnamon and chocolate, along with a friendly earthiness. Nice brickish color.

This wine is over its peak, but not very. Quite enjoyable tonight. A little dusty, nice brick red color, very smooth, hints of fruit underneath.

A little thinner than the last bottle, but still a nice Cotes-du-Rhone -- probably on the down-swing, but nice and earthy nonetheless.

I love Rhone wines. This is a restrained, yet surprisingly tannic, medium bodied exemplar. A fair amount of sediment. I was worried about its age, but the remaining 3 bottles I have could sit awhile. A little barnyard, soft cocoa, dusty flowers.
