Starts interesting and fades a bit quickly to our taste. Still very good, although not excellent. Bought on special but would pick another one at the same price point.

Scents of baked lemon, fresh ginger and toast, crisp with lifted acidity and balance, flavors of bruised apples, white pears and cinnamon, smooth and delicious

Sherberty and relatively sharp. Pear with apple and honey flavours.

Clean straightforward champagne, nose of apples and citrus. On the palate medium bodied. Drank in parallel with the Bourgeoisie-Boulonnais Grande Reserve (same price level) which we did prefer more

From an older bottle that was purchased in 2004. Unfortunately very little fizz left but the aromas were really nice and complex. Mushrooms, dried fruit, citrus and orange rind.

Sparkling blinds (with Non-alcoholic sparkling) (Peter's) : (blind) Light brioche on the nose. very light. slightly reductive? underripe. Seems classic extra brut. 5g dosage (re-confirm in a bit since it's my first sip today) - actually 7.5g. high acid. medium-minus autolysis - not a ton of time on the lees. Clean, reductive style. Medium alcohol - 12.5% Quite nice.

At Le 21ème Commis, Morlaix, France: A few nights earlier, we had a Champagne from the same area (Côtes des Bar) at the same price -- the Piollot Cuvée de Réserve Brut -- that we liked much better than this one. The Devaux wine has very aggressive and persistent bubbles -- the fizziness was a distraction -- and the flavors are not as pristine as in the Piollot wine.

Okhuysen-Haarlem 40 Y Vinée Vineuse, July 13: A champagne with a firm character; just in every aspect a bit more powerful and complex than the already very nice Grande Reserve.

Belles bulles bien fines et fraiches. C'est assez puissant et affirme mais bien équilibré. Sur les fraises, la brioche, les noisettes et les amandes. C'est vineux et hyper long. Excellent. NOTE: « blanc de noirs » = champagne issu à 100 % pinot noir.

Fruity, balanced and elegant

Xmas party at Sixth Ave. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Thin legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of oak toast, brioche, ripe fruit. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet citrus lemon curd, sweet ripe apples, toast oak and brioche. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Sweetish aperitif drinking Champ. 100% Pinot Noir. Dosage 8g/l.

Ripe, spicy notes of apples, citrus, brioche, and sleek minerality. It offers a decent bead, better energy, and could have been a tad fresher, but overall a very good Champagne.

Good bubbles, chalky, $40 at Maui wine shop, drank with maui beef with veggies and fried pork dumplings, not sure about WS review but what can you expect without disgorgement dates, good fruit, drank easily, decent champagne but won’t drink again, not sure what the mainland price would be.

Okhuysen-proeven tussen de stellingen: 100% PN and yet with more roundness than the 75% PN Grande Réserve; so more refinement.

Tasted this at New Ubin Seafood (Stevens) over lunch with my best friend and a special guest. The Champagne was on the house. We ordered a Smoked Burger, Mee Kia Char Siew, Babi Pongteh, USDA Galbi Beef Short Ribs, and the Boss Fried Rice (White version). Fresh toasty notes with zest. Crisp, clean with a refreshing finish. A notch or two above the commercially available big house brand champagnes.

Bitter lemon/grapefruit, minerals, bready, full body. Astringent finish.

Très belle prise de mousse. Bulles fines et persistantes. Jolis arômes, en douceur, chaleureux, le 100% Pinot Noir est très intéressant ici. Pas un coup de cœur mais très bien fait…

89-90. Very good and different champagne. Warm fruits (if that makes any sense) like cooked red fruits. Some citrus zest and almond paste on the finish.

Tasted against the Devaux NV BdB and the Cuvee D. Cuvee D the more 'complete' wine but I really enjoyed the clean fresh fruit of the BdN. Ripe red delicious apple with some baked biscuit. A fruit sweet profile but I don't believe the sweetness was due to high dosage.

More rich and rounded, a little bit flabby on day two.

White fruits, candy and brioche in the bouquet. On the palate brioche, yeast, ripe apples, minerals and some bitterness. Fairly light and a bit drying in the finish.

Très bien fait. Peu dispendieux pour un Champagne

Fairly okay but definitely not remarkable. Rather weakish fruit expression, otherwise moderately zesty and decent dosage.

If you like Pinot Noir based champagne you will not be disappointed. I give it a 89.5. Will buy again

Drank at the Brasserie in the Eiffel Tower. Decent orchard fruit and lemon brioche. On the lighter side. 87-88

At the Chateau de Sable Hotel in Porspoder. Served in a Stolzle glass. Nice texture and aromas of baked apples, good freshness, and light bitter. Seducing, balanced and simple.

Very good value. Creamy/lactic at first, then, nice light fruit after. Finish is a little short.

Medium lemon in the glass. Quite a generous nose showing yellow fruit, peach, apricot, cantaloupe and a strong dose of yeast, biscuit and whipped cream. Palate is broad, but backed up by a zippy acidity making the wine structurally complete. There could be a bit more depth, but at the price I ain't complaining. Good stuff.

Bien droit et vif, belle vinosité. C'est assez ample et rond, masculin comme style, avec de la matière. Des agrumes, du zeste, du marzipan et du silex sur une belle allonge. Excellent.

As described in my previous note; not really dry, but very charming.

The bottle was empty at 20.00 h. and combined perfect with oysters, avocado and toast with paté. See my previous note and even slightly better and even fresher and more balanced than two months ago.

Bu côte-à-côte avec Laherte Frères Champagne Ultradition Brut. Belle notes de fruits à chaire blanche et une touche de miel. Les bulles sont fines et persistantes. La finale est longue et saline. J'ai adoré!

Nose a bit closed but pleasant palate of red fruit and some yeasty toast. Generous style with creamy mousse. Better as a food Champagne than a standalone aperitif.

Made of 70% pinot noir and 30% Chardonnay. Some brioche, nicely dry, good acidity and also a slight pleasant touch of sweetness.

Opulent, nicely dry and tasty. Full bodied bubble. No more notes, but certainly correct and pleasurable.

Not flawed, but very simple. Quite aggressive mousse, thin, lacking flavours and aroma. Short, simple finish. Soft, not harsh. More like a good, but cheap, supermarket cava. Enjoyed before many times befor so happy to give it another go. Should be 89-90 if on form.

Drank at 28 Church Row. The wine list talked this up as an interesting grower champagne but I thought it was just passable. Some hints of musk and age with lemon and a shortish finish. Pleasant enough as an aperitif but not impressive.

Le vin fait encore jeune, la robe est légèrement dorée, la bulle vive. Une aromatique discrète, légèrement confite. En bouche ça se gâte, servi trop frais l’acidité attaque les gencives, au réchauffement le dosage déboule en force et le vin paraît dissocié. Attractive cuvee very dry despite being declared brut. Lots of creamy notes and autolytic character, riper fruit dominates. Would always choose this over the big brands. @finewine.explorer
