Add the end of its drinking window if you ask me. Slight hints of oxidation. Fruity, peach, vanilla and still a hint of spices.

HWS Game dinner 2016 (@ RvD) : Just some short notes. Beautiful white fruits, good acidity, pleasant oak and a good concentration. Very beautiful wine.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #108; Chenin Blanc Worldwide (By SB) : In the bouquet honey and ripe yellow fruits like bananas. Also slightly oxidized impressions. On the palate spices like clove, iodine, vanilla and caramel. Beautiful and complex wine. This bottle was at its maturity stage.

Pale lemon colour. Waxy, apple nose. Sprightly. A wonderful tension of acidity and the tiniest hint of sweetness. Superb balance.

Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2015-02; France: Loire white wines. (By AW) : In both the bouquet as on the palate the oak is evident, but in a beautiful way. The yellow fruits are ripe, there is some beautifully ripe greengage as well. Good acidity. A beautiful wine which can still age a few years.

Notes of apple and some typical Chenin characteristics of straw, beeswax and honey on the nose and on the palate. Balanced, broadband acidity keeps this in shape. Drink now, will probably not develop favorably any more. Works with all kinds of foods.

At the winery's tasting room on a biking trip through the Loire, this proved to be an interesting and unique tasting with some great reasonably priced wines...unfortunately most not readily available in the US This was one of the more interesting wines of the tasting, the VV/Old vines conferring a unique profile. This bottle was pretty past it. I don't know if it was just poorly kept as there was no sign of any flaw. It just disappointed.

Very oaky nose with hints of melons. Taste is similar to smell and with a refreshing acidity. Stored in fridge and wine appeard untouched after 5 days perhaps indicating a long life. Had one from 1996 recently which was superb. Now I am not sure if this will age to become like the 1996 or if this is a lesser vintage.

Straw yellow with green highlights. Nose contains grass, yellow apples and a little beeswax. Palate is full bodied with notes of yellow apples, minerals, waxy and long flavours. It has a slightly sweet overtone, not at all a problem but rather adding additional interest. Acidity is nicely balanced. An excellent wine for food or on its own.

Yellow colour Peaches, yellow apples and dried grass on the nose. Nice subtle saumur typical taste.

November releases at Systembolaget with munskänkarna (Näringslivets hus, Stockholm) : Wet woolen socks, butter and jasmine flower bud tea on the strangely interesting but not really appealing nose; soft ripe yellow apples on the palate with some oak and good freshness.

First time I taste a Chenin Blanc from Saumur. It was a revelation! It was so different than any other Chenin Blanc from the Loire that I drank before! I only had one thing in mind: Rum.
