Domaine Chandon Sonoma & Napa Counties Vintage Brut

Yeasty minerals to the nose. Tiny tight bubbles. I thought this wine was probably done. Light lime notes and some burnt green apples. Taste is light at this point and leads a slight musty aftertaste. This migh have been spectacular before but its best days are pretty much past.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue's) : Pale color. Notes of minerals, stone and grapefruit. Apple and mineral flavors with good underlying acidity.

Drank for New Year's Eve. enjoyed it but may have let it age just a little too long? It was full of dry citrus flavors, and was apple crisp like a fall day. If you've tasted a French champage lately, you'll know the creamy elegance of a well-made champagne. This is more rebellious and California (where it's made of course.) Crisp and refreshing. Nice long finish.

An enjoyable sparkler but even as a 9 yr old vintage it lacked the sophistication of a N.V. French champagne for about the same price. I would have expected more maturity and toasty notes.
