Tasted alongside an 09 Aubert Richie....this was more my style...Earthy, nice red/dark fruits. Some secondary notes developing. Medium body with pleasant finish.

I was late to the party on this one and paid the price. The fruit notes have all left and what you have is a medium dry, oaky, and spicy shell of a fine pinot. The beautiful thing about drinking wine is the endless education you obtain from every bottle. I experienced this back when first released as just a taste and filed that experience away for it's recent opening. Yep, I'm disappointed I missed the "window" but I do …

Purchased 7 years ago at the Carlton Winemaker's Studio from Retour winemaker Lindsay Woodard's brother, cellared since. Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness vibrant red fruit - cherry - with dark fruit undertones - blackberry, along with earthy dust and Asian spice. Palate: Medium-full bodied, spicy black cherry attack, solid acidic back-bone, great mid-palate persistence, earth and mushroom notes appear in the back-end and blend nicely with the up-front fruit and spice notes. Finish: Lengthy 45-60 …

Brick red color. On the nose, aromas of cherry, earth, dust. Palate has flavors of cherry, cedar, plum violets. Medium-bodied, nice acidity.

Medium-light ruby color with Raspberry, cedar and spice on the nose. Medium bodied with dried cranberry, cherry cola and a little spice that all lingers on a long finish. Some well inigrated soft tannins still present with good supportive acidity, still got a couple years of life in in it, but it is perfect now, don't wait.

Earthy red fruit (cherry), spice/black pepper, tobacco. Very well balanced. Nice acidity; light tannins. Drinking perfectly out of the bottle right now; no need to decant.

2nd tasting note (See 2/2016) Medium-light ruby in color. Balanced aromas of damp forest floor with cedar notes invite the flavors of pleasant sour cherry and soft cola that linger intensely with a sweet cedar finish. Medium bodied, tannins are nicely softened and balanced with the acidity an flavor profile... very nicely balanced over-all, and possibly at it's peak now, but this has staying power and has a broad peak. Should stay peak until 2019 -2020. This is one of …

Closed initially, but with 3 hour decant it opened nicely. Medium body, red fruited with some floral notes on the nose. Soft tannins. Elegant and very well balanced and pleasure to drink . Just the right amount of acidity on the finish. It's in a good spot now.

Very glad I saved my last bottle for an additional year as this wine truly rewarded the extra cellar time. Opened two hours ahead of time and continued to improve over the course of five total hours. A mix of black and red cherry along with floral and light vanilla notes on the nose; considerably more aromatic than the prior bottle. Solidly medium bodied this time with improved balance and noticeably improved depth through the middle. A mix of black …

Dropped into a decanter for an impromptu get together. Best glass was the last glass at 3+ hours of sitting in decanter. Cherry, loam, vanilla, green tea, hint of cola or mocha on the finish. Nice but not wowed. Paid $35 on the secondary market which was much more agreeable than the original $65.

Medium-light ruby color, aromas of tea and rose petal with peppery note, medium body with spicy dark cherry, english tea, and a touch of dark chocolate and baking spice. tasted this 1 hour after bottle open and it came off a little simple, but as one taster noted, let it sit for 3 -5 hours and it opened up and became more complex. In the end, a very good wine with good structure, alcohol, and acidity to last easily for …

At first this wine showed much lighter and less complex than I had anticipated. But given 3+ hours open and it showed nicely. At 14.1% (high for Oregon), it still came off just on the lighter side of medium bodied. Nice red cherry, tea and undergrowth notes on the nose. Red cherry upfront with a deeper raspberry note behind. Finishes with good length, nice tannic structure and light spice notes. Mid-body was the best part of this wine as it …

Lindsey did a great job the 2009 vintage. Medium purple color with good clarity. Subdued cherry, strawberry, mossy and hints of cedar on the nose. Well integrated and smooth mouth feel. The red fruits are showing well and the secondary flavors are a nice compliment. I notice more cedar on the palate and it produces a nice finish of medium length. Drinking well now.

Very nice, raspberry on nose, touch of mushroom. Light yet well in balance. Thankfully lower alcohol level, more European so than US. Balanced and very enjoyable.

Lacks structure that I expect from Oregon pinot. It might just be the year but the tannic points are low leading to a soft palate and a reduction in brightness.

This is my favorite Oregon Pinot. It's got a terrific mix of acid, earthy flavor, fruit and structure without that fleshy sweetness that you often find in American Pinot.
