I experienced the frizz upon initial opening. Overall at 6 bucks you can't argue with the QPR. Wine has a nice old-world coop feel, and a bit of depth started to peak through the longer open.

Poured into glass 1 hour before tasting: Color: Light ruby, clear (no frizzante here). Nose: Cranberries, rose petals, and down deep some scorched earth. On the palate: Medium bodied, the initial attack is red fruit and quickly goes black pepper. A spike of acidity (in balance) takes you to the midpalate with moderate oak influencing the white pepper, green/herbs, leather and a finish that is medium length, with moderate fine tannins and bright acidity. Drank over two nights. Lots of fizz, as others described, that distracted from the underlying flavors. Even next day, fizz barely dissipated. There's a decent wine underneath, especially at $5, but I have to call this flawed.

Somewhat cloudy magenta-red. Almost jammy dark fruit and some greenness on the nose. At first attack there is some distinct fizziness (not so much in later glasses), then aged sour cherries, peppery spice, overcooked brussell sprouts, brown tannins, a little heat, and a shortish finish. No discernable barnyard funkiness or off aromas. A lot in there - some good, some not - for $7.

Both bottles I have opened have been skunk wine. As I see that I am not alone, it appears that a huge lot of this wine must have been cooked at some point.

The nose is reminiscent of a helium balloon, leading to green brier. The palate is very soft & supple, starting off with sweet cherries & raspberries, then floral notes on the midpalate, with a medium length red raspberry finish.

Yes there is fizz (presumably from malolactic fermentation) but it blows off (just as it does with much more expensive Lesec rhone bottlings). This is a one of the best values I've ever purchased for $6 a bottle (including shipping). Better than many CdRs that cost three times as much.

Pop and pour. No effervescence this time. Funk on the nose, along with some heat. Very soft mouth feel. Light fruit and bitterness. Pretty hot on the finish.

yes, tasting notes on a $7 wine (WL)....nice color, little brick on the edges...funk and alcohol on the nose. strawberries and leather....then more leather and minerals....decent tannis....fruit on this was just not that good..stone, leather and funk overpower. Plenty of better Rhones, albeit this was $7. I don't think I would buy this again ship I get stuff shipped from WL. gws

Really good QPR. Aromas of dark fruit, tobacco and rubber (like the in side of a tire). Very fruit forward with dark berries. A little liquorish on the mid-palate. Good mouth feel. The only downside is that is falls off very quickly.

Couldn't get past the effervescence that others have noticed as well. Did not get any funk. Simple red fruit and pepper. Light body, low tannin, med acid. Not bad but a bit awkward for my palate.

Popped and poured. Nose seemed ok with some funk and dark red fruit (plum and cherry) but a bit on the stewy side. However, on the palate this wine had tingly effervescence and sour flavors. Spoiled.

Definitely had a bit of the fizz and funky smell others mention. Decanted over an hour. Then fizz gone with a bright purple color and had a fruitier nose. Good acidity with a fruit/leather component.

Take a look at the notes folks, because there are several people now who have commented on the effervescence and strange characteristics representing bottle variability. Second bottle in a row that showed poorly and worse than the last bottle because it never really came around. If I was to rate it, it deserves about a 65. Not an issue of price of course, but simply a waste of time and taste buds.
