Garagiste selection. 14% ABV Color: light/medium garnet with orange rims. Quite an unusual combo! Nose: light intensity. Spicy; dried citrus especially orange and dark stone fruit. Body/flavor: light body. Again spicy, a little nutmeg and black pepper; prunes. Nonexistent tannins. For a 14% ABV, the alcohol is fleeting. Aftertaste: light, somewhat hot finish Additional notes: 2/12/21. I use a vacuum pump to keep wine from deteriorating. Drank final glass -- nose has evolved with aroma of tar and dried dark …

Gabe's. Nice evolved nose. Spicey, good acidity, rustic, drinks more like barbera than nebbiolo, but good.

Medium dark garnet with ripe cherry nose. Dry, medium restrained fruit with a sweet ripe cherry mineral note. Smooth medium body, acid on the front, moving through cola to a chewy tannin finish. Needs more acid and tannin for my enjoyment, a bit jammy, flabby from a hot vintage on opening. Starting to improve with some open time. Initially good acid and tannin balance, but the finish fades.

If I didn't know this was a Nebbiolo, I would never guess. Ok, its a fine red wine, somewhat generic, tasty but nothing special. But a Nebbiolo??

Muted nose. Very sweet with hints of cherry and menthol. No tannins and minimal acid. Meh.

Notes after 4 hours open. Light ruby color, bright and clear with no sediment, which is surprising as this is unfined-unfiltered. Light nose with complex structure. Light body and tannins. Pure, easy fruit and moderate to high acidity with some stony character. Not easy to define as Nebbiolo, nor as from any certain place, but it seems perfectly ripe and balanced in the vein of cool-climate Pinot.. This was the final of three bottles and it showed the best. Probably …

missing something, a bit burnt, with a very short meaty finish. not bad, but for the same price you can get ,uch better neb's from Italy, and it doesn't bring enough of a unique domestic component to make it worth it.

Clearly nebbiolo. This is pleasant, but the fruit is a little too candied and the balance isn't quite right. Drying tannins on the finish.

Tasted again with similar notes to earlier in the year. A light weight watered down Nebbiolo. A little too vegetal without heft or underlying substance IMHO. I guess at the end of the day, I prefer more structured Alpine versions from the various mountainous parts of Italy if I want to drink my Nebbiolo like this.

Decanted for an hour. Mildly aromatic nose of dusty red fruits and rose pedals. Up front, very ripe palate with raspberry, bing cherry, and a prune/fig note that added a fair amount of sweetness. Then there's a vegetal complexity that, between the sweet and vegetal, makes this a distinctive expression, or to some, perhaps an inferior. Prickly tannins, but long finish. More time in the bottle will probably improve the rough edges.

Dark smokey garnet. On the nose, complex aromas of braised fennel, ruby port, smoke, sharp vegetal tones. On the palate, sharp spicy fruit from front to back with a long sweet tannic finish. A strikingly individual wine, where you don't really care about the balance but revel in the strong character.

Notes after 2 hours open bottle. Medium garnet-brick color, about 60% opaque with slow, lightly-stained legs. Very light sediment. The longer it airs, the more herbal the bouquet becomes, along with cherry and earthy rhubarb. Light and smooth bodied, Cheverny-like and shines brightest with food. A lot of character in a soft and understated package. I wouldn't suggest for the masses but certainly for vino geeks, this is a pleasure. This held up exceptionally well over a five day period …

Unusual Washington Nebbiolo. Watery but balanced. Its like you took an Italian Nebbiolo and added a LOT of neutral wine to it so its just lighter. Nice flavors of roses, tar, vanilla oak and spice.

deliciously versatile, grounded and earthy without being to heavy, softened quite a bit after 40 minutes. a little more burn in the back of the throat than I'd like, but lovely.
