Knew it was older but I thought syrah was long lasting. cellar tracker drinking window was thru 2010 so I hurried to open it. Was good, although not as powerful as I wanted ,but still alive

The Mrs. can't pass up a bargain and she saw this marked down to $15 from $25 at Ralph's (Southern California). Opened about an hour before dinner. Initial nose has a bit of funk (but in a good way) and cherry but alcohol is very noticable, 14.2% ABV. Flavors are simple dominated with cherry/berry with moderate acidity. Finish is pleasant. Overall a nice wine and went well with steaks. This is really representin' the 'Bu.
